Ex wants to show DD1 photo on TV dating show

Hi, just after some opinions as my gut instinct is a no, however I'm not sure if I'm being unreasonable.

My ex has successfully auditioned for a new TV dating show called "undressed" which is going to air in the summer (the concept is that two contestants stripped down to underwear and are on a bed for 30 mins getting to know each other Hmm ) google has a lot more information on the show which has been aired in Italy.

He has sent me release forms today in order for me to agree to a photo of our DD being shown on the show. My first reaction is no. I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination but I'm just feel uncomfortable with the kind of show it's being aired on. But I don't know if I'm being unreasonable or not.

WWYD? Any opinions would help, thanks

Err no! Surely it's not your DD who is going to be dating so why would he need her photo (unless it's to play the 'oh look I'm a really good dad 'card')

NO, no and no again.

no fucking way and I am always rolling my eyes at folks who won't allow photos of their pfbs anywhere just for a sort of reference point of how not normal this is

I really really doubt that they'd show it anyway...children are always being pixellated out of things!

No, there's no reason for her photo to be shown, why would he even want that? It sounds really seedy!

yanbu

Tell him it looks icky when people do this to win people over.

Thanks, glad to read it's not just me then. He can be quite controlling (still) and I wanted to make sure before I say no.

unless it's to play the 'oh look I'm a really good dad 'card this had crossed my mind to be honest.

That's if the show doesn't have permission

I cannot think of any good reason why he should do this. So it's a no from me too.

Yes it's for the audience to go "ahhhhhh...what a great daddy..."

Is he?

It would be a no from me too...

Sounds a rather grubby little show to me. Small wonder you don't want your daughter associated with it.

I would say 'yes' actually but use an old photo. Presumably he has her best interests at heart too.

I assume they want to use it to fill in his background a bit and to get an 'Aww' from the audience....in fact all the more reason to use a photo of the two of them from when she was a toddler.

Would that be a compromise you'd be happy with?

"unless it's to play the 'oh look I'm a really good dad 'card"

Yeah, but no-he can tell the person he's undressed with that he has a 5yr old & sees as much of her as he can.

There's no need for him to show a pic or for one to be shown onscreen for "cuteness factor" or whatever.

No. And I would copy the forms and write to the television company stating that you do not want your child's photo used so that the forms can't be mysteriously filled on your behalf too.
