Just a quick one! I know there's got to be someone who can help me with this...

So last year I moved out of my mothers house and she now rents her property out. For some reason my eBay account changed my usual shipping address and used my mums old house as the shipping address... What am I supposed to do in this situation to get my stuff? Am I allowed it back? My mum doesn't seem to be very helpful as we no longer speak much... Any ideas very welcome!

What do you mean "are you allowed"?

If your post has been sent to the old address, you can visit and ask the tenants if they've had any post to you. They might hand it over happily. There's no legal obligation for the tenant to keep post that arrives not addressed to them, though. They are allowed to throw it away or return it to sender. There's no way round that.

Do you have the tenants contact details? Could you give them a call and ask them if anything has arrived? Then you could find a mutually agreeable time to collect it, take them some wine or something to say thanks. Getting post for other people can be annoying, we still get a lot for the tenant before us! It's all returned to sender now.

Basically I wasn't sure if I had a right to go there to attempt to get it as it has been posted to an address that I don't live at anymore but that's good to know! Thank you
