... Shave my bloody legs without butchering myself?!

I've tried so many techniques - pressing hard, softly, going against the hair, with the hair growth, letting them grow a bit, doing it often when they are short or stubbly. Using a range of razors - Gillette, Wilkinson sword, Bic for ladies, Bic sensitive, Bic with 1 blade, 2 blades, 3 blades!

Armpits are an absolute doddle. My legs on the other hand always make an ideal prop for a horror movie once I'm done! The weathers getting warmer & I feel I'm now pushing the 'fuzz keeps me warm in the Winter' excuse Grin

(Aside from the tongue in cheek post - tips would be appreciated Wink)

Sorry I can't help as I have the same problem. I put mine down to the fact I don't have my glasses on and can't see what the fuck I am doing but I'm not sure that is it.

Have you tried using conditioner and not letting your razor be too old? I've found if I'm using a razor that is a bit used, it's much worse, I also discovered I press too hard. Plus if you've cut yourself previously and there is a little nick in your skin, you probably take it off again when you shave so it bleeds, I know I do this as well. And I go too fast on problem bits like ankles and backs of knees.

I'm shit at it too. I'm 27 though Grin

I suspect it's because I'm too cheap to stump for razor blades so nick DP's, though...

I'm the same.

I gave up and only wax now. Lasts for weeks and no more cuts. Happy days.

Are you using a shaving foam? I find the gels a bit better, at least you can see what you're doing! King of shaves stuff glides nicely.

Let them grow and braid them. I am over 40 and still not very good at shaving (or braiding).

Baby oil instead of shaving foam, my legs are fine it's my underarms I tend to butcher!
I usually use hair removal cream now

I totally second Venus.. only ones that dont seem to leave my legs in shreds. I dplash out on myself and buy the ones with the fancy spa gel cushion thingy at the top.. Im sure its practically impossible t slice upur leg woth the thick bit of gel there.

I use hair conditioner instead of shaving foam, I find it works well, and I don't get cuts

Derek, you whippersnapper. Oh to be 25 again! Grin

Thank you for razor suggestions - I'm going to have a browse next time I'm shopping & see about picking up some brands mentioned above.

I use shaving gel Deinonychus - I once made the mistake of dry shaving. Never, ever again. Oh the pain!

I'd love the wax. I've tried it twice - once at home & once professionally. I've got scarring on my legs (not from shaving although certainly not helped by shaving) & I find it extremely painful (Perhaps that's just me being wimpy though!)

I'm 29 and I'm terrible at it too! In fact, I'd say I'm actually getting worse with age. My legs currently look like I've had a run in with a lawn mower...

I tend to use shower gel rather than shaving gel and I use my own dd's razors

Report
NapQueen · 25/04/2016 22:22

I use mens razors. They are made for faces so surely must be more gentle?

Hot bath with a really milky bath lotion, lie in it for a while. Then conditioner onto the leg and shave bottom to top. Dont press down on the razor. Rinse in the bathwayer after each stroke.

I can't. I'm 45. Veet wax for me all the way. I'm low maintenance, prefer trousers and blonde, so shaving my legs has never been sbhih priority. Like flicky eyeliner though, I feel that it's something ivshoukd be able to do, even if I choose not too.

One day, luscious locks on your legs will be fashionable. We will all stop shaving and use conditioner to keep the hair shiny. I will be a trendsetter.

I am 25 and 11 days. Venus, with blades that have the gel stuff. Use conditioner as well. Take the shower out and hold it fairly close to your legs. Leave it til the end of the shower so the heat will open your pores more. Not too much pressure. I agree you need to not use your blades too long. If you can also modify your dna so you get almost no hair and it's the colour of your ski that will help Wink
