It really depends.

I'm 35 and I wear them sometimes!

Depends....
How thick/long is your hair?

Thin straggly plaits don't look great. And sticky out plaits a la Heidi are a bit bizzare on an adult too.

Long, thick, shiny plaits can look good though.

Very thick and long. Down to my bum and so thick theres enough hair to cover a small village

I love my hair like this. I don't do it in public though, I do do it with wet hair and go to bed to get wavy hair the next day. I think I was late teens the last time I did this in public.

Some people can get away with it. No idea if you are one of them. If you have a certain type of style then carry on. If you work in an office wearing a suit, probably not the best hairstyle for tomorrow.

I'm 40 and put mine in low bunches for skiing the other day (so I can get a helmet on) and my mate told me it looked really nice and I should wear them more often Grin

I luffs her...

I'd very much like to see your hair cover a small village Grin

I did mine recently to go to bed, and actually looked like a schoolgirl. I'm 33.

Look, people on here will tell you it's fine. But really, unless you are Britney Spears, or trying to look like a St Trinian just don't.

Are they those fancy schmancy ones or just bog standard schoolgirl type ones? If the latter - you're too old by a long shot Grin

I wouldnt mind looking like a schoolgirl. My maturity is that of a six year old anyway Grin

Slight exgaration maybe red. But the hairdresser gives me this look Envy whenever I walk in because it takes her nearly 2 appointment slots to do my hair

Fish low bunches is my 'going out hair style'. I'm 42.

I would do things with plaits but I can't be arsed. I have very fine wavy hair and anything with straighteners and products is too much effort really.

After a bath and ready for bed? Maybe.

Out and about? No way.

In 36 and sometimes do mine in plaits for work, but I work in a shop and not a fancy office.
I also don't care what other people think and I have a pair of adventure time doc martens that I wear on the school run Grin

I'm 30 plus change and regularly wear my hair like this. It's so convenient. The fuck with everyone else! Do it!

You're ok at 25, I know someone who is 70 who does this and its is wrong, very wrong for her.

DinosaursRoar · 14/04/2016 21:31

Yeeess, but you won't look like a school girl, you'll look like you are trying to look like a school girl. Very different message you're giving out there.

oh but 1 plait would be fine. Plaits then pin the plaits up/round would be fine. Just not two plaits down.

Oh I don't know depends what type? I often do 2 French ones at night with wet hair to get the beach waves things the next day.

For out and about I still wear mine in a French plait to one side or in a fish tail plait, I like to watch you tube tutorials and learn all the fancy ones I'm 27 Grin

I wore my hair in two plaits when I was about your age (a long time ago). My grandma looked at me and said 'Did you...mean for your hair to look like that?'.

With hindsight, I can see where she was coming from.
