25. Thinking about having my hair in two plaits tomorrow. Am i being unreasonable to think im not too old?

Casmama Thu 14-Apr-16 21:19:11

It depends, if Heidi is your style icon, go for it grin

It really depends.

Heyheyheygoodbye Thu 14-Apr-16 21:20:40

I'm 35 and I wear them sometimes!

CharleyDavidson Thu 14-Apr-16 21:20:54

Depends....
How thick/long is your hair?

Thin straggly plaits don't look great. And sticky out plaits a la Heidi are a bit bizzare on an adult too.

Long, thick, shiny plaits can look good though.

FlyRussianUnicorn Thu 14-Apr-16 21:22:04

Very thick and long. Down to my bum and so thick theres enough hair to cover a small village

WonderingAspie Thu 14-Apr-16 21:22:21

I love my hair like this. I don't do it in public though, I do do it with wet hair and go to bed to get wavy hair the next day. I think I was late teens the last time I did this in public.

Some people can get away with it. No idea if you are one of them. If you have a certain type of style then carry on. If you work in an office wearing a suit, probably not the best hairstyle for tomorrow.

I'm 40 and put mine in low bunches for skiing the other day (so I can get a helmet on) and my mate told me it looked really nice and I should wear them more often grin

I luffs her...

FlyRussianUnicorn Thu 14-Apr-16 21:22:46

It isnt a super professional environment (ie lawyer) quite a relaxed job

redexpat Thu 14-Apr-16 21:23:05

I'd very much like to see your hair cover a small village grin

BrienneofQarth Thu 14-Apr-16 21:24:58

I did mine recently to go to bed, and actually looked like a schoolgirl. I'm 33.

DinosaursRoar Thu 14-Apr-16 21:26:45

Look, people on here will tell you it's fine. But really, unless you are Britney Spears, or trying to look like a St Trinian just don't.

SirChenjin Thu 14-Apr-16 21:27:06

Are they those fancy schmancy ones or just bog standard schoolgirl type ones? If the latter - you're too old by a long shot grin

FlyRussianUnicorn Thu 14-Apr-16 21:28:35

I wouldnt mind looking like a schoolgirl. My maturity is that of a six year old anyway grin

Slight exgaration maybe red. But the hairdresser gives me this look envy whenever I walk in because it takes her nearly 2 appointment slots to do my hair

BarbaraofSeville Thu 14-Apr-16 21:29:16

Fish low bunches is my 'going out hair style'. I'm 42.

I would do things with plaits but I can't be arsed. I have very fine wavy hair and anything with straighteners and products is too much effort really.

After a bath and ready for bed? Maybe.

Out and about? No way.

madamginger Thu 14-Apr-16 21:30:33

In 36 and sometimes do mine in plaits for work, but I work in a shop and not a fancy office.
I also don't care what other people think and I have a pair of adventure time doc martens that I wear on the school run grin

sandylion Thu 14-Apr-16 21:30:50

I'm 30 plus change and regularly wear my hair like this. It's so convenient. The fuck with everyone else! Do it!

Ludways Thu 14-Apr-16 21:30:51

You're ok at 25, I know someone who is 70 who does this and its is wrong, very wrong for her.

DinosaursRoar Thu 14-Apr-16 21:31:13

Yeeess, but you won't look like a school girl, you'll look like you are trying to look like a school girl. Very different message you're giving out there.

oh but 1 plait would be fine. Plaits then pin the plaits up/round would be fine. Just not two plaits down.

Hotpatootietimewarp Thu 14-Apr-16 21:34:01

Oh I don't know depends what type? I often do 2 French ones at night with wet hair to get the beach waves things the next day.

For out and about I still wear mine in a French plait to one side or in a fish tail plait, I like to watch you tube tutorials and learn all the fancy ones I'm 27 grin
