Well the pop-ups trying to force the app were annoying enough but has anyone noticed this week that you now cannot view more than 3 reviews for anything without being forced to download the app?

I can't. I have a crap old phone with almost no storage left.

AIBU to be really pissed off? Can we organise a protest? Or do they have enough of a monopoly that they think they can get away with anything. Bastards. I want to know what the 4th and 5th reviews said. But I've already deleted Facebook, I'm not just being awkward. I really don't have space for their bloody app (if I still want to be able to take photos of my children).

I can still see reviews on my phone without the app. It opens about five at a time but I just need to click on the link to see more.

There's an old adage that if you're not paying for the product, you are the product (cough Facebook) ...

I just looked at it - I get an option to load 5 reviews at a time on the mobile site. Or you can scroll down to the bottom when you first go to the site and there's a link for the full site (though it does look pretty small on a phone

Glad it's not just me. I'm happy to given them a load of false details as I usually do, but storage doesn't make this an option.

Amelia - mine was like that until a couple of days ago, now it's 3 reviews and that's it! I'm on an old iphone 4.

Are you using safari? It may be a browser issue. I use chrome.

less of a worry for mobile apps. They can already access your location (so know where you are) contacts (so know who your friends are) and iTunes/Google/Microsoft account details. Which is all they need to sell to their "selected partners".

It is possible to fine-tune your privacy to prevent this, but then you may find some apps just stop working, or don't work at all.

Yes I know I can get to the full site from the link at bottom, but it's awkward and teeny on my screen. Why won't they just let us use the mobile version of site?

Yes you're right LurkingHusband and this is why I keep location services turned off for all but my map app. And don't share contacts or sign into apps/sites via fb/google/microsoft credentials or allow any apps access on fb. Another reason other than storage for avoiding loads of random apps.

It's an old thread I know, but yes the push to install the app or painfully click links after reading a few reviews to see more was super annoying!

Now though I am about to uninstall it over the emails I get every time I so much as glance at a hotel, restaurant or location. Is anyone else getting annoyed by it. Sometimes I just like to research and check prices, see what people are saying about restaurants etc. I don't want reminder emails clogging up my inbox about it afterwards, I don't like how it is keeping track of me.

Going to check my account information for hopefully a preferences section to stop them, but TripAdvisor really is pissing me off now.... rant over!
