TeddTess · 03/04/2016 11:23

my cousin is on holiday
it's been step by step status update
"in taxi"
"at airport flying to x"
"at airport"
at hotel
at various attractions, restaurants etc... lots of pics - like seeing these
but the latest is
"eating vegetable noodles"
am so tempted to reply "seriously?" but then i'd get grief from her/my aunty etc...

i mean AIBU ?????

but i don't want to delete FB
i like seeing what my friends, relatives etc are up to.

i could delete just her but that seems a bit extreme, i like keeping in touch with my relatives like this, makes such a difference when you see her

just don't know why she thinks all this is relevant? it's weird...

Unfollow them.
I have most FB friends hidden. I don't want to see:
What they're eating
What their freshly painted nails look like
Wanky motivational positivity crap
Every single thing their child is doing/saying/wearing
Any reference to Younique

Life's too short. Hide them.

She's excited to be on holiday I guess.

I'd hide her updates.

Savagebeauty · 03/04/2016 11:26

Just hide and move on.

Hide her updates? Remove the following her bit so you don't see her updates?

Report
MoreGilmoreGirls · 03/04/2016 11:27

You can hide her updates from your news feed so you don't gave to delete her and she won't know. Just get one of her updates up in your news feed and top right corner there is an options box. Think it says hide this...

YABU

Facebook is not compulsory.

FB is what you make it. Unfollow the annoying people.

Ah, She's excited! Her holuday updates beat posts trying to flog you aloe shite or '1 like = 1 prayer'!!!

Just temporarily stop following her until she's home if it annoys you.

I'm afraid I'd have to post something sarcastic but I'm not nice.

Report
Sirzy · 03/04/2016 11:29

Hide her then. I like seeing about other peoples holidays

Report
ilovesooty · 03/04/2016 11:29

Just hide her. If she's annoying you, you can do something to address the issue.

Just sounds excited to me. Just hide her updates if it's having a negative emotional effect on you.

MigGril · 03/04/2016 11:29

Hide her updates. But I still don't get why people do this when on holiday.

Is not a smart thing to do your telling people your not at home even if it's just people on your friends list. It can actually invalidate your home insurance if you have a brake in while your not there.

Just scroll past. I don't use the status update function on fb. I just add the odd photo and I've been defriended by loads of people over the years, you can't win on fb!

One of my colleagues used to do that. Never ever posted then when she was on holiday it was a blow by blow account. She got deleted.
My brother is away at the moment, there's been so many pictures posted I feel I'm on holiday with him. Luckily my cousin and sister pointed this out to him before I had to lol.

Don't be miserable, she seems excited about her holiday. You can unfollow her but you enjoy it don't you.

Report
ReadyPlayerOne · 03/04/2016 11:56

She's excited maybe? I would be if I were going on holiday given that I never go abroad. I might not post every five seconds on Facebook, but to each their own.

And you can just ignore them. Or unfollow her for a bit. You have options.

Personally I only unfriend people of Facebook for posting racist shit or the odd two who've tried to get me involved with Forever Living shite and wouldn't listen to a polite "no thank you".

I don't know how Facebook is such a massive part of people's lives, tbh. A symptom of a crumbling society.

her next status will probably be 'gutted, we've been burgled'

Report
differentnameforthis · 03/04/2016 12:03

It's relevant to her, and it's her page, so she can post what she likes.

You can hide her, which means you won't see her updates on your feed, but you can still go to her page & see what she is up to.

Respond to each one with exactly what you're doing...

Her: Eating breakfast of shrimp.

You: Having a poo.

Her: Heading to pool!

You: Plucking my chin.

And so forth....
