To think the topic list really has got silly

I challenge you all to click on the "Topics" button >> over there, and without using CtrlF or any form of search, find the following topics:

Retirement
Premature birth
Geeky Stuff
Refugee Crisis
The Plughole (WTF)
Weekend Breaks
Yoga
Cycling
The Weights Room
The Great Outdoors
Have you seen this (I've never even seen this one)
Wine
SEN
Internet Safety

Now if I and others who are complete saddos have been here for years and know the topics are there can't find them, what is the point of having them all?

Maryz Sun 20-Mar-16 22:58:17

By the way, I have over 300 topics hidden. But it doesn't matter any more as everything is in aibu or chat.

Or in obvious topics - Health, Eduction, SN, Travel. Why the need for more?

WorraLiberty Sun 20-Mar-16 22:59:41

There's no fucking point

No wonder people use Chat and AIBU for traffic

It seems like the sensible thing to do if you want a reply before 2017.

Waltermittythesequel Sun 20-Mar-16 23:01:43

Did you mean to include SEN in that list?!

Isn't that really busy??

SoddingPufflers Sun 20-Mar-16 23:01:43

I agree.

Maryz Sun 20-Mar-16 23:02:09

Please tell me you went to look Worra - seriously, I want someone to be as frothing as I am.

Whatever about the old layout, it's now absolutely impossible to find a topic, even if you want to.

Waltermittythesequel Sun 20-Mar-16 23:02:14

Oh, hang on.

Am I thinking of SN?

LineyReborn Sun 20-Mar-16 23:04:05

Dadsnet is tumbleweed.

Maryz Sun 20-Mar-16 23:04:06

Walter, it's not how busy they are, it's where they are. What do you think SEN is filed under? Hint: it's not under Special Needs for some god-only-knows reason

Sparklingbrook Sun 20-Mar-16 23:04:23

I have just ten topics not hidden. grin

I think MN are aiming for everything in AIBU.

Maryz Sun 20-Mar-16 23:05:12

Oh, and by the way, I found Have you seen this

I can tell you that for 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the members of the site, the answer is "No".

LineyReborn Sun 20-Mar-16 23:05:41

Oh.

I'm on some other ethereal platform.

Waltermittythesequel Sun 20-Mar-16 23:06:17

Sorry, yes I'm just thinking of what I do which is go straight to Active, which I guess is the whole point of your rant.

Little slow on the uptake this evening! blush

Froth away!

Hint: it's not under Special Needs

What??? Where is it?!

Maryz Sun 20-Mar-16 23:06:30

Ah, go on, someone. Try to find them. Go on, I dare you.

Imagine you were retiring from your job and wanted some advice. But you can't search for a topic, go on, find retirement you'll be well dead by the time you've scrolled all the way

Sleb Twaddle. That's you, that is, Sparkling.

Sparklingbrook Sun 20-Mar-16 23:08:51

The Sleb Twaddle topic is very underused. It could be great.

BretonStripe Sun 20-Mar-16 23:09:53

I'm on the app.

Clicked topics > education > SEN

So found that one quickly (smug). Was expecting to find the Plughole one in Homes and Gardens, but then went straight to 'others' and there twas (it wouldn't display anything tho; what is it?!).

Totally agree tho, the amount of topics is crazy.

Maryz Sun 20-Mar-16 23:09:56

I dunno Derek. I think we really need Ford, The World Cup, London 2012, loads of them are very important and relevant. Or possibly not. And some are important and relevant and fucking impossible to find - Refugees for instance hmm

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Sun 20-Mar-16 23:10:24

I assume it's cheating to use the A-Z list. Although they do make it difficult to find anything below 'L' with all the bloody local chat boards.

LineyReborn Sun 20-Mar-16 23:11:02

That's true. Most thoughts about the Orange One for example end up deleted on Chat.

Maryz Sun 20-Mar-16 23:11:54

Oh, oh, oh, I've found a new one.

<opens wine>

Come and join me, one and all grin

Sparklingbrook Sun 20-Mar-16 23:12:24

The thing is if its posted in Sleb Twaddle it cuts out all the 'who cares?' posts.

StitchesInTime Sun 20-Mar-16 23:13:03

Premature Birth is under 'Being a Parent '
