I know its great he is against so much sugary drinks but if your kid has a mouthful of fillings or missing teeth from drinking cans of coke or eating too many sweeties its your own bloody fault, look after them better and get them brushing their teeth and stop buying so much shite for them

and jamie oliver turning up to be on the news with his natty little scooter, AAARRGGHHH FUCK OFF back to your mansion jamie, why dont you realise this government is only bringing in the sugar tax so twats like you say how great they are when actually the main story is is that they are systematically destroying benefits disabled people rely on to live a half decent existence

Can't suffer the sanctimonious, patronising little shit with his stupid fat spitty lips.

I dont know why but always hated seeing him on tv and changed over the channel. No idea why as never meet him and no reason to take instant dislike to him.

Yay! More fucking artificial sweeteners! That fucking git. He has a face I could never tire of slapping.

That's quite an unkind thing to say. He has issues with speaking due to having an long time undiagnosed tongue tie and other related issues. And to be honest, I'd rather have him than the other celebrity chefs who spend their days making millions and coming up with poncey dishes. At least he cared enough to have a go at making school dinners better for children and helped out of work people get back into the job place through his restaurant training scheme.

He gets right on my tits, does Jamie Oliver. It started with his Ministry of Food thing that he did in Rotherham. Preaching to the 'poor folk' that they should cook their meals from scratch, instead of buying ready meals or takeaways.

All very noble, except he has time to do this, what with being a chef and all. But maybe, when you're a single parent who works 12 hour shifts, the last thing you feel like doing when you get home from work, is making a fucking shepherd's pie from scratch.

So yanbu. He can fuck off.

DS likes watching him and then wandering into the kitchens and telling me 'Jamie Oliver says not to use too much butter you know' etc etc etc.

He looked like he needed a good wash on the bbc news.

I'm not his biggest fan and at least he isn't Gordon Ramsey.

That's the most diplomatic thing I can say. Blush,

However, I thought the idea that sugary drinks should have a clear logo on them to show how match sugar is in them is a great idea.

I'm a Jamie fan but agree with you op about the bloke making mozzarella and other bits who has the money or time to start making brick ovens and smokers in their gardens and of they did make them when do we have the weather to use them

I never quite got the Jamie Oliver angst. What exactly has he done to offend sooooo many people?!

Far more annoying and pointless people out there. I don't get the hate either - he's raised the profile of some really important issues, so I can take the ponceyness that goes along with it.

Aaah thankyou!! For the love of god I cant bear this man - and I dont know why!!! Just gets on my nerves!! Like he never eats a takeaway or swigged a diet coke!!!
I Much prefer Gordon Ramsey and his swear words😁

I think he's fab and am aghast at the vitriol on here towards him. I also thought he was dyslexic - MN would have kittens at treating any other person with dyslexia the way JO gets.

I thought what he tried to do in Rotherham was great.

I never like the idea that everyone should pick up the cost of some people's mistakes in food/alcohol etc.

Adults use surgery drinks as mixers, most of them don't have to cut calories. It hasn't been said if pubs will now have to have diet lemonade on tap, which I would have always preferred.

I personally think the manufacturers should have been targeted, the ones who fill tinned veg/soup etc with auger and produce sandwiches with two hundred calories than they need to have in them.

JO needs to come to an area like mine and watch the kids, as young as nursery, eat their 'breakfast' as they're on their way, a load of B&m or H&B sweets, then snack on them all evening, never moving out, to see what the real obesity/teeth issues are.
