Luckily I don't have to go to my guy at the weekend, but popped in today to get conditioner and freaking hell it was like a bloody creche.

Why do women get kids hair done ( for mega bucks) and nice ADULT salons.

I know, i know, they pay the money etc but just go to the salon which is a bit shit instead please - or get the mobile woman

If I want to pay to have my toddlers hair done in a boutique that's my choice. I want her hair done properly not by a mobile woman.

I take my 11 yo to an expensive salon because she's too old to have to endure the truly terrible haircuts that are available at the three local (considerably cheaper) hairdressers.

lol. In my experience there's a reason hairdressers are local or mobile. I have experience of their craft with 2 on my DTs before making appts at Paul Mitchell. (Sorry if you are a super skilled local or mobile hairdresser!)

The kids are well behaved, welcomed and I've never spotted an "adults only" sign when booking IT paying.

I take DD to my salon as my friend works there and DD is beautifully behaved for her and gets excited about having her hair cut as opposed to being a quivering wreck.
Where I take my boys varies, but because of DS1's horrific double crown, it needs to be someone who knows what they're doing.
I don't treat the hairdresser like a crèche though.

I just take dd(3) when I go and we both get done. They don't charge much for kids anyway.

Why should our children's hair look shit though!? My dds all have weird hair (from their dad side!) - strange partings / cows licks / double crowns... (haha believe it or not they are gorgeous). I've taken them to cheaper salons and their hair looks rubbish so now I take them to the expensive salon I go to and the hairdresser there always does an absolutely fantastic job so we continue to go there. My children are quiet and well behaved and won't cause any disruption to any adults having their hair done.

In what way was it like a crèche? Are you sure it wasn't their mum having her hair done and she brought them along as she didn't have a babysitter? Otherwise I can't see how children sitting there having their hair done would make it like a crèche!

I'm sure there are some mobile hair dressers who are fantastic but i won't go to someone I don't know just because it's for a toddler.

Maybe these are salons are cheap ones for these women, its all relative. I pay £15 to get dds haircut that is excessive to some people and cheap to others.

Dd comes with me and has hers done whilst I'm getting mine done. However I get dh to come and collect her when she is finished as mine takes much longer with the colour. She's always very well behaved though as she knows it's a 'big girls' hairdressers which requires 'big girl' behaviour.
