I need to clear my debts. I just paid the last of my catalogue debt off and so tempted to splurge out and order stuff.

It a want not a need. MN please be harsh.

This will save £60 a month in which next week will be able to clear store cards.

EveOnline2016 Thu 10-Mar-16 19:45:24

Next month not week

LineyReborn Thu 10-Mar-16 19:45:36

I'd chuck the catalogue in the bin.

FuckyNell Thu 10-Mar-16 19:45:53

STEP AWAY FROM THE CATALOGUE

LineyReborn Thu 10-Mar-16 19:45:57

But well done.

FuckyNell Thu 10-Mar-16 19:46:13

BURN THE CATALOGUE

EveOnline2016 Thu 10-Mar-16 19:47:35

Don't have the catalogue as I opted out as it all online and going paperless to cut down on junk.
3 years ago was over 10 thousand in debt.

Down to my last 3 thousand

<removes catalogue>

<hands over grip>

<kicks up arse>

You don't need more stuff. I bet your house is full of stuff you want to get rid of.

WutheringFrights Thu 10-Mar-16 19:49:37

De-register your credit card details with any company you buy from online. Catalogue, amazon, ebay/paypal.

LaurieFairyCake Thu 10-Mar-16 19:51:33

Have you tried replacing the desire to shop?

Perhaps with masturbation ? grin

NotMeNotYouNotAnyone Thu 10-Mar-16 19:51:36

You're doing so well!!!! Don't ruin it now!

EveOnline2016 Thu 10-Mar-16 19:53:13

Already done eBay and scratched the last 3 digits off to cvs.

Can't do Amazon as it saves me money by buying in bulb, I did put a long and not easy to type especially when under the influence of alcohol.

FranTan Thu 10-Mar-16 19:54:56

The high gained through the purchase will be short lived and you will feel really disappointed with yourself. You don't need it, get rid of the catalogue.

Maryz Thu 10-Mar-16 19:55:23

Can you block the sites you most use? I'm sure there must be a way of blocking them until you get over your madness grin

You know you'd be such irresponsible twat if you added to your debt now.

Well done on getting it down to £3000flowers

EveOnline2016 Thu 10-Mar-16 19:59:47

16 months before i am debt free.

EveOnline2016 Thu 10-Mar-16 20:00:20

Maybe should order a rabbit grin

londonrach Thu 10-Mar-16 20:02:25

(Throws catalogues away and hides cards in a secret drawer in ops house). Op cut up your cards, take out in cash what you need for the week, do not take anymore money out until next week. Dont put anything on cards!!!

Bailey101 Thu 10-Mar-16 20:05:10

Yup, make your last splurge something really nice from Ann summers grin

Ginslinger Thu 10-Mar-16 20:06:09

burn the catalogue and well done you for getting so far with clearing the debts.

pointythings Thu 10-Mar-16 20:06:39

Am seconding and thirding the idea of splurging one last time on a fabulous aid to masturbation and then make that the new high.

lorelei9 Thu 10-Mar-16 20:07:20

Have you got £60 cash in the house?

How would you feel about setting fire to it?

Because that's a similar way to lose £60 that you should put towards your debt.

ZootSuit Thu 10-Mar-16 20:08:51

Well done on what you've achieved so far.

Cancel the catalogue account, while it remains active the temptation to buy will be there (been there, done that)

Tokelau Thu 10-Mar-16 20:08:59

Don't do it! Keep going, just imaging how amazing you will feel when that last payment is made and you are debt free!

EveOnline2016 Thu 10-Mar-16 20:09:25

So far I have cut up credit cards, paid off and cancelled card.

Paid 2 store cards off cut cards up and cancelled accounts. 1 more to pay off and then the account will be cancelled I have cut the card up and set up a direct debit for payments.

Got overdraft down from £2000 to £1000 by reducing any money I have left over from the month. Sometimes it's been £2.50 other time £15 but slowly done it.

Given up smoking ( ok just over 4 weeks) but the money saved has gone on OD.

Thanks for the reality check.

My purse looks so empty without all the cards.
