Neighbours rock band drumming

Backstory: moved in about 6 months ago into first floor flat. Only one floor above me and they moved in 2-3 weeks after me. I'm a single parent with two kids, they're two 19/20 year old boys. They seem nice both they are so bloody thoughtless when it comes to noise. I've complained to them a couple of times when it they've had parties and have people screeching at 4am and they have toned it down. The problem is the soundproofing in the building is completely shit. I can hear them walking around and talking normally and I'd never dream of complaining about that, totally not their fault.

However. They've just bought rock band (I'm told it's a game) and they play it EVERY evening and I can hear them banging on the drums for hours. It's awful, I hate it. But it's not THEIR fault the sound proofing is bad is it? My lease is up soon (as is theirs) and I don't want to leave because I love the flat, it's just what I want. But if I have to hear 5 more minutes of that constant banging I feel like I'm going to punch one of them in the throat.

WIBU to ask them not to play it? I feel like I would be and I don't want to be that person who complains all the time. Heck, I didn't even complain when they ordered a Chinese at 3am and the driver rang my doorbell. Not even when it happened a second time. I'll admit to losing my shit with them when it happened a third time. But generally I hate confrontation. So MNers, AIBU?

YANBU but it's part and parcel of living in a flat I'm afraid. I spent years in flats so know what it's like.

The problem is that if they move out, they might be replaced with someone hard of hearing who has their TV on very loud. Or someone with a hyper toddler who likes to do lots of jumping about and doesn't sleep much. Or an athletic couple who have very noisy sex - etc., etc. etc.

If noise bothers you, then your only option is to move. Noise does bother me - really really bothers me. So we had to save up (took 10 years!) and we moved somewhere much, much quieter.

If the drumming is during 'reasonable' hours - so 8am to 9pm for example - and it's just noise transfer between the flats then there's not much you can do. If it is anti-socially loud (walls shaking type thing) and late at night or very early in the morning, then if speaking nicely to the neighbours doesn't work, you could complain to the LL or contact the noise nuisance team at the council.
