.....is horrendously sad? Or am I just being a soft bugger??

pantsjustpants Thu 25-Feb-16 20:45:34

Yanbu, I think it's really sad.

I spent quite a lot of the time in tears- it is an awesome film smile

Noeuf Thu 25-Feb-16 20:46:28

With the car? I can't watch it. Don't make me think about it now, I genuinely find it so distressing.

Caravanoflove Thu 25-Feb-16 20:46:50

Is this the one with Bradley Cooper when he takes the brain pill?

boopsy Thu 25-Feb-16 20:47:46

Heartbreaking at the end, stayed with me for a while and so not my usual type of film.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine Thu 25-Feb-16 20:48:12

I though you meant the one with the wee boy Android grin Perhaps you should clarify the film...

StickyToffeePuddingAndCustard Thu 25-Feb-16 20:54:49

Caravan that's Limitless.

AI has the kid out of Sixth Sense in it.. Haley Joel Osmet or something like that I think.

TangledUpInGin Thu 25-Feb-16 20:56:43

Yep, it's the one with the little boy robot - it's taken me two days to watch it sad

BranstonPickleandPeanutButter Thu 25-Feb-16 20:57:49

I thought it was sad... although I'd adore a teddy bear friend.

Ubik1 Thu 25-Feb-16 20:59:13

Oh god I could never watch it again. Beautiful film. But so bleak.

tibbawyrots Thu 25-Feb-16 20:59:28

It makes me cry. But then I cry at Masterchef, the Bear & Hare John Lewis advert, Cool Runnings, Scruff found alive in The Archers etc...

I'm a blubby bundle of soggy hankies.

Lurkedforever1 Thu 25-Feb-16 21:01:18

I find it really sad too, whenever I see it I just want to adopt him and make it all ok. And I'm usually a cold hearted sod who sneers at teary films.

Netflixandchill Thu 25-Feb-16 21:01:35

So so hard to watch but what an amazing film. I find when I try and explain it to someone they think it's just dodgy sci fi pish but even explaining it to people makes me get all emotional and go a bit funny.

Don't want to give away any bits of it to people that may not have watched but it really is an incredible film, just the right amount of cheese for my cynical soul

luckylala Thu 25-Feb-16 21:01:35

Love this film, think it has echos of fairy stories like Hansel and Gretel, The Wizard of Oz and of course Pinnochio. sad there are probably more but can't think of them just now.

VertigoNun Thu 25-Feb-16 21:03:31

It's haunting.

Netflixandchill Thu 25-Feb-16 21:05:20

I did think all the way through oh god please come and live at my house I will love you forever. My mind made links between the boy and the problems we have with unwanted pets, seeing life as an inconvenience or disposable.

Theladyloriana Thu 25-Feb-16 21:07:27

The most disturbing film I have ever seen, would never ever want to see it again !

Lovemytent Thu 25-Feb-16 21:09:00

I agree OP...terribly sad. The teddy bear was the breaking point for me, how he'd somehow allowed the boy time with that special someone (trying not to give plot away). I still get tearful thinking about it.

TangledUpInGin Thu 25-Feb-16 21:15:56

I'm a hard faced fucker at films, but that poor little soul.....sad I've had to make myself a chicken sandwich and pour another wine to cope with the trauma

mavisgreen Thu 25-Feb-16 21:17:22

Now I want a chicken sandwich!

Heartbreaking film.

gunting Thu 25-Feb-16 21:22:58

I've never cried at a film before until the traumatic experience of watching AI.

His day with his mum sad

TangledUpInGin Thu 25-Feb-16 21:28:33

It's hideous isn't it. I'm now eating dry coco pops and watching the vanishing.......confused

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Thu 25-Feb-16 21:30:06

Which is the one where Robin Williams plays a robot? I think I have the films mixed up.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Thu 25-Feb-16 21:32:10

Ah. Bicentennial Man. That one was just CREEPY.

Must watch AI sometime, sounds right up my alley. I cry at everything.
