Must you attend every Sunday dinner? If your partner wishes to see his mum can't you send him off with a nice " cheery bye!" Then get on to -- napping-- going to the gym, reading, doing whatever you want?

Katenka Sun 21-Feb-16 14:46:01

That's great if it suits you.

I couldn't visit anyone every single week without fail.

LemonRedwood Sun 21-Feb-16 14:46:05

Lots of people get along with their mothers-in-law. Those stories don't really make for interesting threads though.

HighwayDragon1 Sun 21-Feb-16 14:46:16

Oh my gosh hunni you're totally right that's amaze you get on so well xxxxxkissesxxxxx

Sparklingbrook Sun 21-Feb-16 14:51:28

I think you should reclaim Sundays as your own, every Sunday seems a bit much.

YouTheCat Sun 21-Feb-16 14:54:02

Depends if you enjoy going or not really. If you do, I'd just keep on having lovely Sunday dinners cooked by your mil. smile

Sparkletastic Sun 21-Feb-16 14:55:03

I can't really understand you. But...fine.

Sparklingbrook Sun 21-Feb-16 14:56:12

Only fair to invite the MIL round to yours every now and again.

My MIL died many years ago, but always came to us. She always salted her dinner before tasting it which wound DH up no end.

CaptainCrunch Sun 21-Feb-16 14:58:04

What is your aibu? Oh wait, it's just a load of boring nonsense. As you were.

manicattack Sun 21-Feb-16 14:59:05

wibblypig1 Sun 21-Feb-16 14:59:14

I've read this post 4 times and I'm still none the wiser, so I'll just say "Yes"...

SecretWitch Sun 21-Feb-16 14:59:38

Sorry, I misread. Sounds like you enjoy seeing your MIL every Sinday! It's great way to be together as a family. My MIL is lovely too..though don't know if every Sunday would work for us.

SecretWitch Sun 21-Feb-16 15:00:46

I guess AIBU to call it Sinday hmm

OhShutUpThomas Sun 21-Feb-16 15:00:53

Id love a nicest day dinner now with some jazz band gossip.

OhShutUpThomas Sun 21-Feb-16 15:01:03

*nice Sunday

Sparklingbrook Sun 21-Feb-16 15:04:06

I wouldn't really want a conversation over Sunday dinner about who was sleeping with who TBF, or jazz. Just not my thing.

HeyYouGetOffMyCloud Sun 21-Feb-16 15:05:47

SalemSaberhagen Sun 21-Feb-16 15:05:52

MIL? Haven't you 'just got back' with your boyfriend?

Why haven't MNHQ zapped these already?
