From the CDC. Particularly the "risks for any woman".

AnchorDownDeepBreath Sun 07-Feb-16 20:16:25

Bloody hell.

NickNacks Sun 07-Feb-16 20:17:11

What's wrong with it specifically?

Sirzy Sun 07-Feb-16 20:17:40

I am wondering which alcoholic drink in particular can cause STDs?

nonamenopackdrill Sun 07-Feb-16 20:18:55

Do the risks for men also list STDs and unwanted pregnancies?

CheekyMaleekey Sun 07-Feb-16 20:19:25

Terrible! Could result in pregnancy. I'm appalled. What's the cdc?

Ginkypig Sun 07-Feb-16 20:19:29

I wonder if it vodka or wine which causes somone to batter/inflict violence on me after Iv consumed it

CheekyMaleekey Sun 07-Feb-16 20:20:03

Nick have you read it??!

liberatedwine Sun 07-Feb-16 20:20:23

Which brand of alcoholic beverage causes pregnancy? shock

Shallishanti Sun 07-Feb-16 20:20:51

they should, that;s what I told DS1

pinkyredrose Sun 07-Feb-16 20:21:39

I never realised drink inflicted violence or std's on women. Wonder if it does on men? Very informative .

bumbleymummy Sun 07-Feb-16 20:22:31

Is there one for men too so we can compare?

CheekyMaleekey Sun 07-Feb-16 20:23:51

What's the CDC?

NickNacks Sun 07-Feb-16 20:24:02

I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just seeking clarity.

SparkleSoiree Sun 07-Feb-16 20:24:08

I took it to mean the under the influence of alcohol you may become violent or aggressive.

CDC is Centers for Disease Control - a bit like an American NHS, in terms of advice and guidance.

CheekyMaleekey Sun 07-Feb-16 20:25:19

Is that why it's called Crabbie's alcoholic ginger beer?

Tapirbackrider Sun 07-Feb-16 20:25:26

CDC is the Centre for Disease Control.

It's a US infographic.

AnchorDownDeepBreath Sun 07-Feb-16 20:26:19

Hmm, wouldn't the risk be becoming violent, then, not "Violence"?

"Violence" suggests that you are at risk of becoming a victim of violence.

duckyneedsaclean Sun 07-Feb-16 20:27:27

Sorry, the CDC is the center for disease control in the US.

annandale Sun 07-Feb-16 20:30:34

Perhaps it's more of a shock in the UK because without alcohol the British birth rate would probably plunge confused

But yes, talk about the nanny state. Makes it look as if pouring vodka up your chuff will knock you up. I can hardly read it, do they mention risk of a car crash or jail for drink driving? Ridiculous listing of all possible consequences of intoxication.

scaevola Sun 07-Feb-16 20:30:44

CDC is the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (the major public health body in the USA, and generally a world leader).

It's parallel leaflet for men includes information that men are much more likelto be problem drinkers than women, and this leads to a heightened level of risk taking behaviour, leading to injury or death (presumably it's the increase in risk-taking behaviour that also leads to unplanned PG and STDs), an increase in aggressiveness leading them to be more likely to perpetrate assaults, including sexual assaults. Also risk of suicide.

Plus the disease process risks.

It's evidence based, and hard-hitting for both sexes.

liberatedwine Sun 07-Feb-16 20:34:35

Is that why it's called Crabbie's alcoholic ginger beer?

grin grin grin

HermioneWeasley Sun 07-Feb-16 20:36:55

Surely the point isn't that alcohol gets your pregnant, but that you are less likely to practice safe sex when drunk (also the reference to STDs)

I was much more offended by the UK poster pointing out that 1/4 rape victims had been drinking.
