Would you expect them to replace it?

Its nothing expensive but at the same time soemthing I cant afford to replace at the moment and I need it.

She has said she cant find it. But she was acting edgy so I suspect she has just chucked it

AIBU in thinking she should replace it?

What is it?

It would depend on the item and the reason for the falling out tbh.

I wish i knew Gabi. She just decided to cut me off and block my number.

Its a coat. I went to look for it the other day as im going away on Monday and then realised. Emailed her and she said she has one in the house but isnt sure if its the right one. Awaiting photograph for the past 2 days.

Clearly isnt mature enough to say she has chucked it Hmm

How long did you leave it there?

How long had it been at her house? Had you just left it there or had she borrowed it?

Just like that? That's odd
Does she usually do that?
Are you positive you haven't done anything to her even behind her back that you hoped she wouldn't find out?

I brought it round for her as she said she didnt have a thick winter coat and then she went and brought one. I went once or twice after that just completely forgot about it until i went looking for it the other day

So she's not really your friend is she?
In other words this behaviour is expected from her. Not sure why you have her the coat then!
If forget about the coat, too late

Instinct says she's sold it.......
But I have a nasty, suspicious mind, ignore me!

Yes she should replace it, but not likely she will if flakey unfortunately.

Had a similar situation with a relative - childhood solid wood bed lent to them, they took it to the tip without even consulting us. No apology let alone replacement.

Hmmm yes in that instance she does owe you for it. I doubt you'll get the money or coat though unfortunately.

I agree with you OP she should replace it
I had similar and had to go and collect a sleeping bag, it cost about £80.

She hadn't thrown it out and was completely mature about arranging a date for me to collect it. Still a bit odd doing the "hello" on the doorstep but went as well as it could really.

But in short, if you didn't fall out over something dire that made her want to exact revenge, or aeons had passed or some such, she should be ready to give it back or replace it.
