Yes. But cats still really like us.

The real test would be seeing if kids did HmmGrin

Dogs are too demanding though. I don't want to be pestered and licked all the time.

The love that cats feel is deep and they don't need to go in for endless displays of loyalty and licking

My cats love me deeply. Especially at 06:30 when they get breakfast and around 12 hours later when they have dinner. I am also amazing as a hot water bottle.

I have 2 cats. One loves me more than tuna and follows me everywhere and always wants to be as close as she can get. The other would murder me in my sleep if she didn't need me to open the tuna. She hates everyone and lives under a shrub in the garden. She only comes in if I forget to put food out and she's forced to pretend she likes us.

Saw another survey stating that if cats were bigger, they would actually kill us. This has been my opinion too. They are not tame. They do not like us!
The fuckers.
But they are cute and entertaining in their absolute disdain of 'human'.

Mine like me. They greet me when I get home from work. But they were feral and I think in some ways they're a bit dog-like.
They do try to make me fall down the stairs though Hmm

I've 'owned' 3 cats that thought it was the height of hilarity to sit on the back of my chair and smack me around the head. 3.
One would shit int the bed of anyone she happened to be pissed off with that day.
Whereas all my dogs give me unconditional live and scare away burglars.

but that's why I LIKE cats - dogs are wayyyy too needy - all that 'lovemelovemeloveme patmepatmepatme playwithmeplaywithme' crap

Cats are like 'fuck off - oh food - fuck off again - dreamies lets go mental - fuck off'

I have a cat and a dog. The dog, I think, does actually love me. Follows me around, sits with me, is pleased to see me, etc, etc

The cat only loves me when I've got a pouch of Felix finest in my hand. The rest of the time I'd say he actively hates me. If he could reach the cupboard and open the pouch himself, I reckon I'd be under the patio pretty sharpish

Ghosty Grin

I have both. Most of the time I prefer the dog. The cat is much less work though!

I would say that they show me equal amounts of affection. My cat is very lovey dovey and regularly licks me, dribbles on me, shoves her face in mine etc. Much like the dog really.

when I go for a walk from my house I take one dog and end up with a dog and up to four cats. I don't invite my cats, they lurk in the woods and suddenly jump out and tag on. They all show love, but in completely different ways.

My cats love me. Always want cuddles and run over happy to see me.
I hate the way dogs follow you around, jump up, and slobber all over you. I like that my cats are independent and do their own thing and don't need constant interaction.

My dog is currently laid across my feet keeping them warm.

The cat is sat right in front of the TV so I can only see the top half of the screen with one leg in the air licking his arse. Every time I get up to shift him he moves away, then when I sit back down he jumps up there again

I prefer the dog

Not a brilliant study, small sample size plus by that logic someone whose levels rise by 60% when they see their child loves their child more than someone who's hormones rise 55%?

I'm a cat person. I like dogs but prefer cats. Intelligent, inquisitive, independent and quirky.

Dogs are dutiful. Whereas if a cat befriends you, it's of its free will

One cat is on my lap now. If I don't sit down quickly enough, she digs her claws into my leg to try to make me sit down. None of my dogs were that clingy.

Cats are just odd though. They just do their own thing and don't give a fuck about the fact that they're not even on nodding terms with sanity.

Dogs are just stoopid.... My mums (that she totally adores) is just stoopid

My cats are wonderfully loving and delightfully clever... Except the boy one, he's stoopid but adorable with it :)

My cats are loyal to me, in my dating days my oldest cat (bless her socks) could sniff out a bad one, she refused to talk to the bad ones.... She met two that turned out to be bad apples... Husband to be, she was all over like a rash X

When I was pregnant my cats gathered round like cosy hot water bottles on tap, and when I lost my baby followed me everywhere for weeks X

Cats get my vote everytime

My mums dog has proved great company to her, but remains plain stoopid

[note dog lovers I say "stoopid" as there all big eyes and wiggly tails and well a bit less clever generally than their feline friends]

Love that video Hidden

It depends on the cat.... one of mine loves me more than the dog does. Full on running to climb into my arms, purring if I speak to her, eyelash fluttering, the works. Another regards me as the maid service and has a benevolent kind of firmness with The Staff and demands regular stroking and massage. The third just gives me sad, disappointed looks and turns her head away to avoid eye contact. If you're so common as to speak to her she leaves the room immediately.
