I mean some of them get breakfast in Roys Rolls, lunch time drink or two, in after work too.

Surely knicker stitching doesn't pay that well?

And baby sitters. Everyone seems to be able to nip out for a drink without co ordinating who's coming into look after the bairns. I mean you see all the adults in there gossiping, flirting, having dramas without a worry about the kids

I laugh when they get a takeaway coffee from Roys. It's in the same street. Can't they just get one at home? It's hardly barista standard coffee!

I'm always amazed that everyone seems to have so much time and a life outside of work. You never see anyone just vegging on the sofa. Nor do you see anyone doing the school run

I remember when the kebab shop opened on corrie and all the characters were eating lunchtime kebabs. NO ONE has a kebab at lunchtime

also why are they not all really overweight, I mean if I had a bacon butty every morning, cake mid morning, beer at lunch time, beer in the evening and a crafty kebab I would be huge.

I think this too! How can they afford to go out drinking so much? I also think it's weird that they all seem to work on the street and I a new character comes in they immediately get a job usually at the factory, no questions asked!

And it's not just the money either, time must work differently there because there's no way I can get myself as the kids ready for school and work as then go have a leisurely breakfast at a cafe (bearing in mind the time to order it and wait for it to be cooked) then get kids to school and then on to work!

That's not high. I don't think I've ever seen any amount of wine in a pub for less than about £4 in years.

I actually know people who have had similar lifestyles on the past. One example is a friends partner used to be dropped off at the pub every night after work, and would get the bacon butty everyday. He would be in the pub all weekend too. How? Because he had nothing else. Thats where his
Money went. He spent on alcohol the equivelent of a mortgage. He got together with my friend and she immediately put a stop to that! He now tips his wage to her and she sent him to get the next qualification up in his field and has been promoted. No more week day drinking. Basically he needed someone to take control.

The £200 washing machine is not cheap to people on low wages. That would require saving for some time. If youre living hand to mouth launderette is the only option.

Well, they all do have their own washing machines so at least there's no launderette in sight.

And they don't seem to have any other social life or hobbies (now that Deirdre's demise means no-one's doing a pottery class) so The Rovers is all that is left as a place to spend. Because only a couple of characters ever go shopping or to Spain.

I assumed the factory did the cake run to Roy's because of Hayley.

BTW, did Roy, Cathy and Nazir all give up their allotments? Or is that just the scriptwriters being bored?

No-one ever has school allocations angst, or has problems renewing passports either.

It makes financial sense for the residents to support business in their community.

They never have friends or partners outside 9f the street either they move in and meet someone who.lIves a couple of doors down ,leanne and carla, just swap men even when they have affairs it's always with the next door neighbour etc I mean of you were going to have an affair you would try and pick someone who didn't live in your street and be a bit discreet about it.
