AIBU?

To be whittling about leaving the Xmas decorations out?

Ok. So this is pushing the limits for the AIBU thread but I'm not going to get much traffic on the Xmas thread!

I've spent all day taking down numerous trees, decorations, ornaments etc etc. They are now sitting here beside me in the lounge. I'm shattered. Want to watch TV. Do I really need to actually get them out of the house - another two hours of work!! Will the hobgoblins get me?

AIBU?

Yes, hobgoblins will pop out at midnight and get you if you haven't finished putting them away. Don't worry they'll be after me too, I need help to get them on the loft.

I had to chase the little buggers off last year Grin
We had a Christmas decoration out all year that has been pushed behind the telly and it stayed there as we could not be arsed finding the right box to put it in. I am please to report we are all still alive and the house it still standing and 2015 while a bit challenging in parts was not too bad and great in parts including a fab new job :)

In all seriousness, is it just getting the decorations down or putting them away as well?

It's getting them down, definitely, not the putting away

Mine are down and boxed but not in the loft, but that will have to do until the weekend when someone has time to do it.

Ours are down too, but waiting until the weekend to get them up in the loft.

However, I leave the nativity out until Candlemas (2 February) because officially it's still Christmas 'til then and the Kings have only just arrived!

What little we put up is still up, and will be up until I have time to sort it all out. Balls to all the shitty superstition! Grin

We had a Christmas stocking in DD's room all year, and the only hobgoblins in the house were of the beer variety. You'll get away with it if you don't draw their attention.
