For what it's worth, I realise I am being unreasonable. I just want to rant.
I am a temp. Worked at a place from September to December, start of term to end of term, full on, in at the deep end, learn-as-you-go stuff, and I handled everything that came my way pretty well to the extent that I've left with several friends who are friends on FB and several excellent references, from my line manager to the head of admin to the head of school.
The agency emailed me yesterday to ask if I'd be interested in a new job opportunity that has arisen to start on Monday. 'Yes', I say, and the job is something that was advertised internally before Christmas, that I could have applied for but decided not to as I'm extremely scared of the interview process. That's why I haven't had a permanent job in several years. I'm shit scared of the interview process and I'm normally a rational person but, for some reason, stick me in an interview scenario I forget how to speak. It is that bad. Even when I've prepared thoroughly, even when I've been through all the techniques.
I've worked for this agency several times before, gained lots of experience working via them for this certain organisation, gained several glowing references and lots of relevant experience. The job is only for 4 weeks and is a low pay grade job - it's not like it's high profile with major responsibilties such as banking or recruitment. I'm just wondering why the organisation have decided to go through the interview process when they've already advertised and shortlisted for the job (the job advert closed yesterday) and the position itself is just a stop-gap between now and the new person starting. Why interview for two different people?
I'm just grumping, don't mind me. I know I'm being unreasonable but I'm just very scared at the prospect of being interviewed. That come Friday morning I'm going to not only forget all the experience I've gained over the last couple of years but I'm going to forget my own name.
Wished I'd applied for the damn job now!
