Jumping all over the sofas, running around... mums completely ignoring them. No discipline at all.

Come on, at least one of you must be on here. Defend yourselves!

Yeah, they were mine. They are professional actors, and it was a short play written just to piss you off.

It wasn't me. My children are often quite beastly though.

Children running around? Oh, how awful Hmm

Well, I sincerely hope not! They are in their twenties and should be at work! Grin

Not me either, dcs are now too old to be leaping onto furniture. We have had many moments of shame when they were small though, so I feel I shouldn't judge. although I do all the time and will continue to Grin

Dino why is it okay for children to run around a café and jump on the sofas?

Report
fusspot66 · 04/01/2016 13:38

Not mine. Back in school today.

That ^ is such^ a Mumsnet thing to do! Grin

I mean ignore the fact they were running around in a cafe, jumping on sofas and being completely ignored by the adults in charge Grin

Are you suggesting that children should be running around inside a cafe, Dinobab? Hmm You know, those places with servicing staff doing their jobs, carrying hot drinks and food? And, you know, with people relaxing? There's a time and place for children to let off steam, and a cafe isn't one of them, in my opinion.

It could have been my DC

To be fair, I only ignored them because I was embarrassed

I mean what with them being 24, 16 and 13 Blush

You should have had them clamped and towed away.

It's not. Kids should be kept in order in public for their own safety alone. Mine could be a real pain but if they were they were removed. I know no one loves my dcs like me, but I always wanted people to like them! Which is easier if they are behaving appropriately. Especially in cafés!

Not me, had to cancel our visit due to the hall being closed - I'm not going if I can't wear a vintage frock

LagunaBubbles · 04/01/2016 13:44

Do I are you one of those type of people that think I should be allowed to run around "expressing themselves" everywhere? Including cafes therefore running the risk of knocking into someone carrying food and drinks? Or you just another MNetter desperate to be seen as ever so PC or just desperate to disagree with what the OP says?

Grin at the defenders of children running around.

Wasn't me, I can assure you. Partly because mine are at school and work, and partly because I wouldn't allow it because it's dangerous and fucking bad manners, both to the staff and the other customers.

No idea where it is. But I thought the lime coloured fuzzy thing was appropriate. Amazing what Google can find!!

It definitely wasn't mine. None of them were up before 11am, ds1 didn't get up until midday, and we haven't seen ds3 yet. I suppose he coukd have made his way from near Paisley to Lyme Regis, but it is far more likely that he is still in his teenage pit bed.

Just wondering why you did not say something to them at the time. Parents would soon have identified themselves! If you want to change something You need to address the issue with the culprits/carers at the time. Posting on Mumsnet won't make any difference.
