NC sibling and Christmas/Birthdays

I've been nc with my brother for about 6 months as he was verbally abusive to me and just an awful person. He and his gf have 2 kids, I used to be really friendly with his gf and the kids, saw them every week etc.

Since I've been nc with brother I haven't seen any of them. His gf bought me a Christmas present and I got the kids a gift each. It's also one of the little boys birthday soon and my mother mentioned that brother gf asked if I would come along. My brother will be there, it's so awkward.

Do I buy the kids a gift for birthdays/xmas? They are 2 and 4. Do I give it to them through my mother, beause I don't want to be around my brother after the way he has treated me.

Personally, I would buy them gifts; -rather than just leaving them with your mother, though, is it possible to see whether you could meet the girlfriend and the kids at your mother's house, away from your brother?

I might be able to but I don't want to cause any arguments or make her feel uncomfortable

Fair enough. I'd try to find a way to leave the door open to the girlfriend, though. Sorry you're in this position, it's true we don't choose our family!
