..... with oven chips, oven rings and gravy?

In my defence, I'm ill and couldn't be standing cutting potatoes and veg, and the kids seems happy with it!

Sounds cracking! I served Jacobs cream crackers with Mexicana cheese and pickles for tea tonight and I'm not even ill. Just a lazy ape.

Sounds delicious! If you are poorly, and can still manage to cook that, you are doing well, IMO! Lob a piece of fruit at them for afters, if you are worried about scurvy.

YANBU. If it wasn't for DH wanting to do all the prep, I'd have done similar this evening.

However, you are also utterly unreasonable, because I want onion rings now, and I don't have any. Xmas SadWinkGrin

I had a strop and made pie and chips. Fucked off with lazy kids so didn't bother buying stuff for a roast and made what I fancied.

Ive just had rice crispies for tea. Ds had beans on toast. We've both been really poorly with chest infections and dh has worked all weekend. Cereal was the extent of my cookery ability today!

Onion rings rock, I can think of no occasion when it would be not ok to serve them.

Well I'm having a sausage and mash ready meal in a giant Yorkshire pudding (frozen) and a tin of marrowfat peas.

Chicken, chips and onion rings sounds devine 😊

we've got some reduced fish from sainsburys. I hope it's not too far along the decay curve. it is dover sole, which is supposed to keep better than other fish but who knows really.

yabu to have eaten already. it's still wine o clock.

i've got some semi-sparkling prosecco in a screw top. It's quite nice, to be fair.

YANBU. One of my favourite childhood meals was roast chicken, chips & salad.

wine o clock may not apply to viewers from continental europe who of course an hour ahead, although with their sophisticated continental ways, they probably haven't eaten yet either.

Yes to the onion rings and chips but NO to the gravy. You are quite mad, gravy and onioin rings do not go together. A mixture of ketchip, chilli sauce and a BBQ one would have been much better.

DD just ate a bowl full of dough balls which she dipped in her tea for dinner.

Oh well!

I managed toad in the hole for the kids. All three of them turned their noses up at it. So one had spaghetti hoops (and nothing else), one refused to eat anything at all and the third had a yogurt.
They won't expire before the morning, I hope.

my husband has just been hunter gathering and returned with a pizza for me. 31 weeks pregnant and full of a cold = full on slob.

I should have asked for onion ring though

Chicken and chips with gravy yum!! Hope you soon feel better and I'm in awe that you managed to cook a full meal when unwell. If you have the strength open a tin of fruit if the Dcs want afters.

Sounds good. Could you throw some frozen peas in a pan for 5 minutes too as then it be perfect. Take it lots of gravy. (Puts coat on and heads to ops house)

I would have chucked some frozen peas in the microwave then I would have had a completely clear conscience.

I'm emptying the freezer at the minute, so my lot have had pretty much the same meal, though they got peas instead of onion rings.

I've been feeling lousy all day but stirred myself to make meatballs (from scratch) in tomato sauce with pasta for our tea. I'm ashamed to say that I then had a proper weepy/snotty hissy fit when both kids moaned that they didn't like it. Wish I'd made the ungrateful little feckers fish fingers and chips instead. (We have mealtime battles every bloody time it isn't fish fingers, sausages or cheesy pasta, and I'm beyond sick of it. Still shouldn't have flounced off into the bathroom and snivelled though Blush).

I've been busy doing skip runs for my mum, then 'spring' cleaning the dining room and erecting the tree.

I made my kids make their own tea using the air frier, then had spaghetti hoops on toast myself. Was yummy, but not something I usually eat.

My MIL puts onion rings on the sunday roast. It's so wrong.

Your meal however sounds lovely, at least you cooked instead of ordering in! Which is what I would have resorted to.
