Bought dsd and dss an dairy milk advent calendar each, then I saw a Frozen one dsd will love so bought it for her.
So we have a spare advent calendar just sitting in the cupboard staring at me... Would I be unreasonable to open it and get stuck in before it goes out of date? Just incase..

I always had to re-buy Easter eggs. I've got to the point now where I just buy depending on the offers rather than how many I actually need to give out. A surplus amount is essential IMO as you never know who you might forget, everyone's a winner heh he
Enjoy

It's quality control. You need to check the chocolate. It could be poisonous!

I'd better go and check on the two I got for dcs...

Definitely not. Especially if you're in Ireland. Go on, open it.

Just leave those enticing little doors alone, OP! The scoffing season doesn't start till next Tuesday. You can do it!

Wolfiefan that's what I was thinking. I would be racked with guilt if either of them became ill!

Better I didn't even open the windows, I just ripped the back open.. Get the chocolate quicker that way..

Helena what is the No 7 calendar??
Disappears to google..

Santa's watching, you know. Open up that advent calendar before the 1st and you're screwed. You'll be on that naughty list forever...

You owe it to your kids. You are protecting them from possible food poisoning and obesity.
Please think of the children!!!!
Did you not get a second frozen one too?!?!

Slight derail, but I bought my DSD the Boots advent calendar recently.

Thought it would be a novel gift for her late November birthday - she's into her make up etc and is knee deep in nappies with two DCs under two, so thought a beauty treat a day would be lovely.

Was going to wait the few days till 1/12 came along...but no. Sent me a snap chat of the whole lot opened up. Some full size products in there. Can't wait to open mine!

God, being an old crumbling relic I remember when advent calendars just had pictures* on them. No chocolate, toys, cosmetics etc.

  • None of Ruud Gullit sitting on a shed. (For the Fr Tedders).

I've put it away now before it is all finished..
No Wolfie I did not get 2 frozen ones, but dss is 16 now though so he might not want his... hopes.
Finally got my 8mo ds to sleep and chocolate and gin were my only options lol a healthy balanced mum diet imo.

OH is mad keen on colouring (he's been off sick for the last year and has about three months post op recovery time so it's pretty much kept him sane!)

I bought him the Usborne Colouring in advent calendar and he's hysterically excited about it (enormous, tattooed, pierced, 45 year old bloke!) Every evening we have the same conversation
Him:- can I just colour in a bit of it
Me:- NO it's bad luck!
Him:- but....what about just one picture?
Me:- NO NO NO NO!
Him:- oh but.....(big lip face, puppy dog eyes)
Me:- well go on...Just one bit....but you can't open any doors...
Him:- nah, best not...might be bad luck...
Me:- ((sigh))
