Ok so, bit of a long story.....I've posted before about MIL issues but this is just the straw breaking the camels back.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and probably have been a bit too organised getting all the baby stuff ready. Several months ago my Mum bought us a brand new pram (not cheap and very generous given she's not very well off). Being superstitious I didn't want to keep it in our house until after baby arrives so asked MIL if we could keep it at her house. (My DM lives 120 miles away). Yes, no problem. So a few weeks ago DH and myself make up the pram to check it had all the parts etc. We were delighted with it. My only concern was that MILs cats have the run of her house (big 4 bedroomed place) and I was concerned they may claw the basket or get in the pram. MIL told me I was being silly and the cats wouldn't go near it. Hmmm...not sure as whenever they see an empty space, bag, basket, box etc they tend to get in it. I very diplomatically requested that she keep the door to the room shut, just in case. To which her reply was 'it's their home they can go where they like'. DH also thought I was being a bit neurotic. MILs answer to stop them going in it was to put a cuddly toy in it. Hmmm not the ideal solution but as DH seemed to be getting annoyed with me I let it be. Sooooo, last week MIL gives us said cuddly toy to take home for the nursery. I then had a sleepless night thinking about how the pram was now empty and worried about the cats getting in to it. Next day, spoke to DH about it who grudgingly agreed to phone his Mum and ask her to put a sheet over it to 'stop dust getting in'. MIL didn't seem happy but agreed. Anyway to cut long story short went to MILs yesterday to see her and decided to take a photo of the pram as my Mum still hasn't seen it. Removed said sheet to find cat hairs and mud all over the brand new mattress!!! DH comes in and asks if I'm OK....needless to say lots of expletives were directed his way! I swear she's done this on purpose!! She's jealous of my DM and I wouldn't put it past her to have allowed the cats in there to ruin the one thing my DM bought. I've done loads of research about mattresses, bedding etc to ensure I got the best I could and one thing they say is it should be a new mattress, firm etc. So needless to say I'm not thrilled that it is now covered in cat hair and muddy paw prints and God knows what else (her cats always seem to have dirty bums!). MIL thinks I'm fussing over nothing and they 'only jumped in there once' and she'll wash it if I insist on being so precious about it! I want a new mattress!

Am I overeating?

Thanks in advance....I'm fully aware I'll probably be told IABU.
