Mil thinks it is. However is contains three veg (potato, leek and onion) and dairy for calcium.

That surely.means it isn't junk right? It has a lot of good stuff.

It's junk. Potato is a starch. Pastry is a starch. Lots of fat, lots of carbs. Junk.

If you make it at home, then it might not be junk.

If you buy it from a petrol station, it probably would be.

It's not junk but it's not great.

I'd say it's definitely junk, I want one though!

It's double carbs and a lot of fat though. And salty. Even homemade food can be junk.

Ketchup is so one of my 5 a day, put it with a cheese and onion pasty and it's almost 5 a day.

It's definitely not health food! Homemade or from a quality bakery slightly better but yeah generally I'd class a pasty as junk

It doesn't have "a lot" of good stuff in it.

It has some good stuff.

Which is unfortunately counterbalanced by the fat content of the cheese and butter.

Nothing wrong with carbs, not good to double up carb.

I wouldn't call it junk food. But I would certainly be taking it easy for the remaining meal of the day.

Its food. Eat it, be glad you can, and have vegetables tomorrow. Who gives a fuck? Its just FOOD.

Another vote for junk. Not something I'd willingly eat.

I like them but don't pretend it's anything but junk food.

I need one now. I'm not hungry even but I could scoff a pasty or sausage roll right now.

Of course it's junk! Would you class a pizza as junk? After all it's only dough, tomatoes and cheese?

Report
UngratefulMoo · 08/09/2015 21:02

Well, it's definitely not healthy.... but probably better for you than bubble gum...

TheMotherOfHellbeasts · 08/09/2015 21:03

I wouldn't have called it junk food, not if it's homemade, but we're not in the UK and where we are everyone is a lot more relaxed about food, with an everything in moderation but don't stress sort of attitude.

No I would not class a pizza as junk food at all. It is the pastry which makes a C&O pasty a no no

"Junk" or occasional food. I love them.

Well, it's probably very yummy, but if it's a typical cheese & onion pasty, then I'm afraid it is junk! Sorry!

The answers you get on threads like this usually come from the perspective than anything other than vegetables is junk, and carbs in particular are worse than crack.
