To be losing my mind with this loud music?

This post may be badly worded because I cannot think straight. The music is fast, with irritating ascending and descending scales and an off beat. It is driving me insane. Imagine being forced to listen to "Agadoo" at twice the speed, on repeat all day. With random breaks as if they're playing musical chairs, where the silence is such a sweet relief, only to have it start again a few seconds later.

I cannot think as the incredibly fast beat is pounding through the floor, covering my ears I can still feel it, and I swear it's speeding my heart up, certainly it's not music you can relax to! And the same two fucking tracks again and again.
I can't concentrate on doing anything.
It is the children upstairs doing it. Running round screaming is one thing but this music, the regular beat is so distracting. I feel like I'm going mad, I can't think, on edge every time it starts and stops.

AIBU to tell them to turn it down? (Again.) And is their SAHM BU for never taking them to the very close park to let of steam once in a while?

You'll get responses saying YABU because it's early afternoon but I believe loud music is anti social, selfish and irritating regardless of the time. Doubt your neighbours will agree though.

Sounds like some new fangled form of torture. No way would I tolerate repeated playing of a Agadoo The Next Generation. Tell them to shut that shit up.

Upstairs neighbours are the worst thing about living in a flat. You have my sympathies.

I'm usually quite relaxed about noise, but that sounds horrendous.

No consolation, but I do know how you feel. Years ago when I lived in a flat, my neighbour came home really drunk, put a country and western album on and fell asleep. The wretched album played repeatedly all freaking night. Knocking didn't help, he was paralytic. To this day, c&w makes me feel really quite stabby.

I think you need to knock and ask them to turn it down OP, otherwise you'll go stark, staring bonkers.

Funny thing is, they listen to some lovely music, but it's always these two tracks played at stupid volume. I know it's because of the children because you can hear them crashing around dancing and squealing. That's why I feel mean about it! But yes, its torturous! The worst was when I also had excruciating period pains (dizzy, shaky, vomiting level pain) at the same time - true horror, and I'd have hammered on the door but I wasn't physically capable.

Loud music is anti-social at any time of day if it disturbs neighbours. Some people are particularly affected by noise don't forget.
