To want to confront this OW?

Nc for this as I don't want to out myself. Today, my best friend found out that her husband is cheating on her with a work colleague. I am absolutely devastated for her. They have 2 children, the youngest is under 1 and she said that there was no indication whatsoever that he was unhappy. He always seemed like the nicest, most thoughtful, loving man and the last person you would expect to have an affair. But here's the kicker. I work with her dh and so the OW is also a colleague of mine. He is a manager in a different department to me but the OW works in my group. She has always come across as a little unhinged and she became even more so after her own husband left her and her 3 dcs a few years ago for another woman (how ironic). Anyway, the twisted part is that although we were never close, in recent months, she had made it her business to try and befriend me- it started with her sitting beside me in the canteen at lunch and progressed to her requesting to be moved to the desk beside mine. I didn't think much of it at the time, just that maybe she was lonely and wanted to make more friends. But looking back on it now, I believe her motives were sinister. She did say to me on a few occasions things like 'Oh, aren't you best friends with Xs wife. What's she like?'. And as I speak regularly with my best friend on the phone during the day, OW would have also heard our conversations (or at least my side of them). Also, I have returned to my desk a number of times to find my Facebook page open on my work computer when I was sure I hadn't been looking at it. My best friend had no notion of the affair until she received an anonymous text saying something along the lines of 'Go to the conference room at your husband's work building at 1pm'. She thought it was some sort of a wind up or surprise from me or her husband as her birthday is this weekend. She went up to the conference room and walked in to find them at it. I have asked around the office since and it seems that nobody else knew about the affair (obviously everyone knows now because there was a huge scene). This leads me to suspect that OW may have sent the text herself so that they would get caught. I feel like calling the nasty tart out in front of the whole office tomorrow. Of course I know that the husband is equally at fault but her actions just seem so calculated, befriending me and trying to get closer etc. I probably won't do it because I would only be letting myself down but I just need to vent this all out. I am only just now home from my best friends house where I have spent the evening listening to her sob her heart out and panic about what she is going to do. Why do these OW get off on this sort of thing???
