That really.

I've tried giving sainsburys stuff that is aspartame free but he keeps buying aldi own brand that has it.

What squash do people recommend? I'd like one xylitol or stevia without artificial anything or preservatives.

YABU, it's about balance and moderation, aspatame is just the latest fashionable substance to avoid for people who have too much magazine reading time

You shouldn't give any squash and certainly not a sugar free version

You can be as unhappy as you like but Yabu to think you can control this.

YABU. Aspartame is not the devil. There is no scientific proof that it has any negative side effects, but plenty that of proof that sugar does.

I avoid aspartame cos I don't like the taste. What's wrong with water?

As far as I know Sainsburys is the only one without sweeteners. I avoid all sweeteners so not sure if there are any brands that contain the 2 you have mentioned.

I see the other posters are giving you a hard time but I am with you on trying to avoid aspartame. I cut out all artificial sweeteners (99% of the time) since January this year and I have been amazed by the results. My skin has improved a lot, I sleep better at night, I lost over a stone in the first 5 weeks, my tension headaches have stopped, my hair is growing faster and my overall gut health has improved. I honestly have never felt better.

I do agree with everything in moderation and I do have the occasional thing I know has sweeteners but aspartame is the one I will try to avoid the most. I wouldn't be happy with my DD drinking loads of squash with aspartame but at the same time it's hard to avoid it sometimes (other peoples houses, parties etc). If you have sent over the Sainsburys squash before and your Ex H still gives your DS the Aldi stuff then I'm not sure sending a different brand would help as he will probably continue to give him what he wants regardless.

I think if that is your biggest issue with your ex you should thank your lucky stars.

You can't micromanage how he parents her, it's good to be on board with each other on the big decisions but you have to let things like this go.

I also think that you need to let the ex make decisions when she is with him. Sorry, I know it's hard to give up that control but ultimately it will be smoother for you if you can agree to disagree on small issues like this. It's a wee bit controlling to buy squash for him - you have to trust him to make his own decision even if it's not one you agree with.

YANBU. I would not be happy with this either.

Which flavour of Aldi squash??

I ask as Aldi is one of the very few places I can buy squash WITHOUT artificial sweeteners - my own DD is highly intolerant to the stuff & it will cause her a colitis flare up

YADNBU if he IS giving her this toxic crap, it will upset her tummy if she drinks much, that's why diabetic foods carry a warning

But it might not be as bad as you think
