... Then your opinion on how easy things are is invalid?

I'm looking at you BIL.

What does he do for a living? I think you should tell him that his job is a piece of piss a chimp could do.

Who seems to think that despite no experience at all, it should be pretty easy to keep on top of house work.

What makes it laughable is, his house is a mess. I pointed this out to him. And he came out with the classic "but I work 10 hours a day! And the last thing I want to do is tidy up"

You must record all these observations and play them back to him and his partner when they have a baby.

Try not to literally die laughing when you do this.

He comes up with all sorts of stuff.

The other day he wondered why we didn't just put the baby down on the floor whilst we made dinner Grin

Your last post made me burst out laughing! How about he comes to yours to watch the baby (while your close by...like maybe just in the bath or something) and then let's see how easy it is Billy bill balls bil

This reminds me of a guy who had never changed a nappy declare that disposables should be illegal and people mums should be forced to use reusables!

BIL is an idiot. I remember HV telling me if I had managed to wash myself and get out of my pyjamas by 3.00pm with a newborn I was doing well. She was right.

It's damn hard work. And nothing gets my goat more than idiots thinking they know it all! FIL

There is obviously nothing wrong with putting a baby on the floor. Unfortunately some are just not that keen. (Yes, I'm looking at you, DC.) Bit difficult to concentrate on hot things when someone is screaming at earsplitting volume. Nobody put baby in the corner in our house.

nothing wrong with babies on the floor - just not in thoroughfares whilst pedestrians are carrying hot liquids etc Grin

I used to put my babies on the floor on their playmat in the living room while I cooked, or bring the moses basket and stand into the kitchen.

I am not agreeing with your BIL, but there are ways to be able to carry on doing things while you have young babies.

I think that a "Babies according to BiL" book, calendar and greetings card range could be a top seller.

I'm just saying that maybe the floor of the narrowish kitchen is not the place to put a baby whilst cooking! Grin

My friend's husband (no kids as yet) often used to say 'how hard can it be?' -before I bludgeoned him to death with a baby monitor

I have wished twins with colic on him many, many times.
