DD at her dads. She has a paddling pool unopened. DP has promised his dad that he will bring pool to family BBQ but I think it's mean to use her pool without her as its brand new. aIBU?

I think at 5 if you can re box it it's fine - and replace it if it gets damaged.

I get where you are coming from and would feel the same. But, the pp's suggestion of taking it the the BBQ then having it set up for her when she gets back is a great idea.

Yeah I definitely second having it ready for her coming back. She'll be so excited it won't register that it's already open

Will the paddling pool survive a BBQ? In my experience they tend to get get damaged easily, especially in party situations with excited kids. Will you have time to buy a new one if this one is beyond repair?

Yabu, open and repackage carefully, she'll never even know. Tbh she probably wouldn't even mind if she knew, most 5 yr olds are kind.

I apologised to DP for being a daffy, we took the pool, kids were happy and it didn't get damaged! Thanks for the honesty Smile
