So fed up so far DC have been off almost 5 weeks we've had about 2 days of no rain, we've missed
Picnics in the park with our friends
Nice day trips
Days to the beach making sandcastle a
Riding bikes
Getting the paddling pool out
Playing in the garden the grass is a pile of squelchy mud
Wearing summer clothes from our holiday
Drying washings on the line
Not putting the heating on
Going out means wellies and waterproofs

Honesty it has been dire

Dire is a bloody understatement. YANBU.

BaldHedgehog · 31/07/2015 22:19

Google position of Gulf Stream and then you'll see why the weather is so crap here.

MermaidLion · 31/07/2015 22:21

Oh I know, it's been fucking awful.

Kittykatmacbill · 31/07/2015 22:25

It's been rubish dd2 has only worn one of her summer outfits. But I can't believe you have had to put the heating on!

Stellafox · 31/07/2015 22:26

It's been piss poor and no sign of it getting any better.

woowoo22 · 31/07/2015 22:30

Heating on today! Freezing!

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 22:30

I know it's the pissing Gulf Streams fault, it can piss right off.

It never rains this much in the middle of the Winter, I'm fed up wiping the dogs paws every time she goes out for a pee or mopping the floor every day as the DCs drag and grass constantly.

Im a grumpy old Scottish woman

We've had 1 ok day in the last fortnight - by which I mean without some rain - not actually warm and sunny. Every other day has pissed with rain. It's been terrible.

Heading down south tomorrow for a few days. Hoping to have a bit of summer

Ineedtimeoff · 31/07/2015 22:32

I had dreams of putting out the garden toys, inviting over friends and having BBQ's. Nothing of that! Rubbish summer.

backwardpossom · 31/07/2015 22:32

Meh I was in Sunderland last weekend and it was pissing rain there too.

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 22:34

Just watching the news and Salsburgh in North Lanarkshire is the wettest place in Scotland, it's a few miles from here. Wettest July since records began.

It's shit. MIL has been up (holiday childcare, thanks PILs) and tried to tell me that the weather where they live in Sussex hasn't been so great either until recently - hahahaha! She stopped when the Scottish news started carrying explanations as why this summer has been so awful and how far below season norms the temperature is.

DH just told me there is no point comparing with the south of England, it will always be warmer. No shit, Sherlock. It's just surely not normally 10 DEGREES warmer just about every fucking day.

Taz1212 · 31/07/2015 22:35

I was just going to start the exact same thread!

It's been awful. I think I've had my laundry out to dry three times so far and the promised days to the beach and picnics by the river haven't materialised at all. I can't remember a worse July.

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 22:35

Yes forgot

No BBQs
No DC sleeping out in the tent
No summer toys in the garden

It has been truly horrific.

I have just finished work today for a 2 week holiday. Didn't book anything abroad as last year was so good & planned to go camping either west coast or east coast for a few days. Thought we'd find some area of Scotland that was going to be dry but now faced with 2 weeks of pissing rain in every corner of Scotland!

Heating on. Winter coats regularly used. Totally hacked off.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 31/07/2015 22:36

How can the weather be that different between Scotland and London? I ignorantly thought the whole of the UK was getting great weather this summer. It's only a few hundred miles. Tbh though I only realised it didn't rain every day when I moved from Manchester to London. The weather is the main/only reason we've never gone back there to live, despite the lovely people etc.

EddieStobbart · 31/07/2015 22:36

Have got two woolly jumpers on and still considering turning the heating on. I was using a hot water bottle in June.

JollyGolightly · 31/07/2015 22:37

I've had the logburner lit every evening, the house is freezing and we can't get clothes dry otherwise. Finding a dry window.to cut the grass has been almost impossible. I'm taking it personally now.

malloo · 31/07/2015 22:37

Its been so bad ive now decided to just give up on summer this year. Heating is on, candles lit, curled up on sofa eating chocs, autumn is quite nice! Plus don't need to be arsed with shaving legs or fake tan!

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 22:38

I've actually been abroad this year (first time in 11 years) so have seen the sun. Think that makes it worse coming back to this.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 31/07/2015 22:38

Just realised that that post could be interpreted as gloating, apologies, it wasn't, I just can't understand the significant weather difference. As a Northerner I have suffered my fair share of wash out summers!

EddieStobbart · 31/07/2015 22:39

I tell a lie. Edinburgh is 15 degrees on Sunday, London is 26. 11 fucking degrees.

Bollocks.

Yesterday it didn't rain ShockShockShock

Three washings dried
Grass cut as it was very long, that was a fun job pushing the lawnmower through muddy squelchy grass, it's a midden out there now.
Big dog walk with DC.

That's it for a fortnight now at least

OP posts:
malloo · 31/07/2015 22:40

Oh yeah, we were going to go camping on the west coast too, sod that!!

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 22:40

EddieStobbart - I just saw that and had a big FFS at the telly 11 degrees of a difference!
