AIBU?

Okay so it's a DM link (sorry - I know for that alone I'm BU!).

But AIBU to think Cara Delevingne was really quite rude in this interview?

I was quite shocked really. She's clearly irritated because they got her name wrong, but to pass her rudeness off as 'British humour' is doing a real disservice to us Brits.

It wasn't humour, she comes across as very 'entitled' in MN speak and as if the interviewers are beneath her.

I think that it was the anchors that were being rude actually, and she handled it well.

onthering · 29/07/2015 23:15

I watched this last night and agree with Meg.

lutra3d · 29/07/2015 23:15

No I don't think that she was being rude at all based on the clip in your link.

lutra3d · 29/07/2015 23:15

Yes the anchors were rude definitely.

Donatellalymanmoss · 29/07/2015 23:16

No, she wasn't I've watched it and thought she came across quite well despite the lack of professionalism of those interviewing her.

PiperChapstick · 29/07/2015 23:16

I actually think the newsreaders were rude and patronising with stupid questions. I love the honest way she responded and that she refuses to be chirpy when she's clearly the gorgeous surly model type. Everyone has a bad day at work, not helped by ridiculous interview questions about being "super busy, don't you wish you had more time for you?" I really don't think they'd ask a young man if he felt he was too busy!

ApologiseForAnotherDay · 29/07/2015 23:16

No, I think she was fine and the presenters were bloody awful, especially bitching about her at the end. So unprofessional.

CelestialGreen · 29/07/2015 23:16

Really? I'm actually quite shocked anyone could think that. I actually think her eye rolling and sarcasm were incredibly ill mannered.

They probably shouldn't have reacted the way they did once she'd gone (two wrongs don't make a right) but she was definitely showing a distinct lack of professionalism and class IMO.

I think you could all do with some manners then if you think that was acceptable! Grin

The interviewers were absolutely dreadful and very rude.
Really stupid questions!

I thought she handled it well - I'd have been much ruder in response!!

Shock

hissybug · 29/07/2015 23:20

I think she was bloody rude

TwinkieTwinkle · 29/07/2015 23:20

The interviewers were dicks. She responded appropriately. YABU.

FreudiansSlipper · 29/07/2015 23:21

Well she wasn't brimming with energy and positivity that is very much part of many chat shows in the states

I think they were being rude shame she wasn't so rude back that would have been entertaining

lutra3d · 29/07/2015 23:21

According to your link they got her name wrong.
Who was showing a lack of professionalism again? Hmm

msgrinch · 29/07/2015 23:21

yabu she handled the interview well. The rude ones were the presenters.

PiperChapstick · 29/07/2015 23:22

To ask an actress if she's read the book of the film she's starting in is quite insulting and a stupid question warrants a stupid answer. I think she's very refreshing from the usual chirpy twee fucking irritating actors and actresses you usually get who answer every question "oh my god like yeah it was amazing, I love the script, I love the characters, I love the people, I love the movie. It's amazing to be part of something amazing blah blah blah"

CelestialGreen · 29/07/2015 23:23

Honestly, I do! Would you behave that way in a job interview?

She was there to work and promote a film. She clearly didn't rate or care about 'Good Morning Sacramento' as a media outlet and it showed. I just thought she came across as obnoxious and was disappointed! (Am sure she'll lose sleep over that Smile)

Binit · 29/07/2015 23:25

The first question asked was whether she had read the book. I think the interview came across as awkward but the anchors didn't come out of it any better than Cara.

ssd · 29/07/2015 23:25

"she was definitely showing a distinct lack of professionalism and class"

class??

this is 2015, op

TwinkieTwinkle · 29/07/2015 23:26

It wasn't a job interview. She had her job, she did her job.

Would you behave like the interviewers if you were in their position? If you would then I would be worried. Arrogant arseholes.

RitaKiaOra · 29/07/2015 23:26

Far from it Celestial. I am very well brought up! But this was a car crash interview whereby the so-called professionals did the following:

got her name wrong and asked ludicrous questions*

asking whether she had had time to read the book or script as if she was bloody stupid/illiterate/unprofessional
asking whether being mad busy helped her focus

took it out on her when she called them on it by being sarky
red bull/coffee et cetera then slating her entirely

Have not seen a morning interview as bad as this since the Russell Brand one
Or the One show one with Bruce Willis Or the Parkinson one with Meg Ryan

Ultimatyxthey were rude with inane bordering on insulting questions, then a heavy dig at her needing a stimulant just because she was not suffering their foolishness gladly

I don't mean class in a literal sense ssd Hmm

Would you behave that way in a job interview

No, but she wasn't at an interview or there to impress anyone or convince anyway that's she fantastic. I actually think the anchors were lucky they didn't get worse treatment

TwinkieTwinkle · 29/07/2015 23:27

ps. I am in no way a Cara Delevigne fan. I find her totally insufferable and beyond annoying. Can't fault her here though.
