polkadotsrock Tue 30-Jun-15 12:35:52

*Horrifyingly

DeanParrish Tue 30-Jun-15 12:37:46

Oh you are brilliant. Wear it. Wear it to bed too.

WorraLiberty Tue 30-Jun-15 12:39:03

I think a bit more info is needed?

Unless this is going to be one of those threads where the OP is pretending to be a child/cat/book character, in which case I'm not interested grin

WorraLiberty Tue 30-Jun-15 12:40:09

Ohhh...do you mean you wont it in a Mum's race?

I thought you were saying your Mum won it! grin

polkadotsrock Tue 30-Jun-15 12:41:32

No I won it in the mums race at toddlers sports day. I'm amazed!!

minionmadness Tue 30-Jun-15 12:41:51

Wear it with pride wink

GinUpGirl Tue 30-Jun-15 12:42:34

You should definitely get in bed tonight wearing only the medal. So seductive.

WorraLiberty Tue 30-Jun-15 12:43:20

Oh in that case you should wear it everywhere

Get some sunglasses too so you can slide them to the end of your nose and say, "Don't you know who I am?" grin

So glad you're all on my wavelength, thinking of getting a tatt, like ironmen and Olympians do...

SoupDragon Tue 30-Jun-15 12:54:43

I was gutted they didn't have a mums' race at DSs very first sports day. I'd turned up in my skin tight lycra pants and bra and a pair of running spikes sad Non competitive schools are shite.

polkadotsrock Tue 30-Jun-15 12:57:24

I wasn't really looking forward to it, since I felt victory was somewhat unlikely. I've already decided not to try and defend my title next year. I'm going out on a high.

WannabeLaraCroft Tue 30-Jun-15 13:22:55

Non competitive schools are shite. grin

I'm the opposite - was extremely glad I was pregnant this year so had a valid excuse not to take part! Usually get dragged up by my pal, but it's so humiliating as I'm not a fast runner, and my huge baps are a hindrance, no matter the sports bra! My DH's joke - "it's a wonder you don't knock yourself out!" Gee thanks, twat.

SoupDragon Tue 30-Jun-15 13:40:19

I'm not sure if you spotted the lack of honesty in my post... wink

YANBU

Milk it for all its worth.

Take a picture of the medal and use it as your facebook picture.

And give people tips based on your running career.

Oh and wear it to every parents evening from now until they graduate.

TinyManticore Tue 30-Jun-15 13:44:58

They don't have them at my DD's school. They go for the non competitive teamwork style sports days, where the parents are left wondering exactly why they came to it.

VacantExpression Tue 30-Jun-15 13:46:00

I'd be wearing it till next sports day If I won, and uploading the video to youtube.
Mind you if I won it would probably make national news...

YourBubzYourRulzHun Tue 30-Jun-15 13:46:24

polka finally! Someone on my wavelength! I won the Mum's sprint last year and fuck me, I did not stop going on about it grin
Come to this year and I was worried that I'd bragged so much there was an expectation that I would win. I honestly think I know how Usain Bolt feels now before he races.
They did a twist on the race this year so it wasn't a flat out run but victory still was mine. I may have to sit out next year to give the other poor dears a chance.
I may take this all far too seriously.

SavoyCabbage Tue 30-Jun-15 13:47:48

I worked at a school on an army base. The parents races were ridiculously competitive. grin Like a stampede.

polkadotsrock Tue 30-Jun-15 13:49:07

No, sounds like you've pitched it at just the right level to me!

Shodan Tue 30-Jun-15 14:06:59

The last Mums' race I entered, I was standing on the start line gossiping to my friend. We didn't hear the whistle blow and only started running, wheezing with giggles, when all the other mums had nearly reached the finishing line. We gained a reputation for being flakey... grin (No medals for that, unfortunately)

So well done you! You Gave It Your All (something much lauded by the teachers at my school) and emerged victorious.

Perhaps a winner's lap around your local town/village/street? Have you a flag of some description you can drape around your shoulders?

derxa Tue 30-Jun-15 14:09:52

polkadotsrock What a competitor. I hope you're not going to turn to performance enhancing drugs. I can imagine the headlines. Polkadotsrock's Drug Shame Former champion shunned by parents in the playground and given two year ban grin

polkadotsrock Tue 30-Jun-15 14:14:24

Alas I doubt I can afford a drugs binge. Perhaps I could do something else- an affair with a sleb maybe?
I've no flag readily available but could get the toddler crafting (since he's shit at running)...

Give a motivational talk at assembly.

And get on the internet, one of those click bait things.
