Sorry to post on here. I can't find the room I would need to. Please MNHQ if there's a more relevant place please move this thread.

I've got a letter in the post saying I need a disability assessment.

I had a distal femoral replacement in 2007 due to osteosarcoma. During the surgery I suffered extensive nerve damage. I also need the knee replaced.

Walking and getting around is an every day struggle, so much so I've wanted my leg amputated.

I know this, my family know this, my friends know this and everyone sees the pain I go through on a daily basis.

How can they see this in a 40 minute assessment??

I feel so fucking anxious right now,

Try not to worry. It sounds like there will be plenty of evidence both physically and in your medical history.
I hope it goes ok and that your health improves.

Try not to worry. My uncle had recently and the woman doing it was so embarrassed she apologised. He has MS and can't talk or walk and she had to ask him how far he could walk etc - it was ridiculous.
You'll have the evidence of the medical records on your side, good luck

It's for DLA, the 'health assessment advisory service' have written to me. I've changed the date as someone told me to request that it's recorded. I just feel so anxious so I went through so much to be awarded DLA in the first place (my claim was rejected many time as they just didn't understand what I had done). I just hope they understand the extent of the damage the surgery had on me and how it effects my day to day life. Has anyone had one before and can give me some insight?

I don't know if it's the same as PIP assessment but I would ask for the assessment to be recorded so there is no doubt about what was said, I think you have to notify them beforehand.

Good luckThanks
