I couldn't help it, I had the beast spot from hell which luckily appeared just as I went on holiday for the weekend. It was like 3 spots in one and had a massive creepy whitehead so I just squeezed it a teeeeeeeny tiny bit and then a teeeeeny bit more. And then obviously I was there for an hour because I couldn't stop and now I've got a big, angry, swollen, red and scabby chin. :( Also because I got a lovely tan none of my concealer matches and I'm going to have to go to work naked face. ALSO, I have a presentation to give in front of 20 people...I'm freaking out....help me...what can I do right now?

Take ibuprofen for the swelling. Get a cold compress on it. Don't squeeze any more. Slather cream on. Sudocrem, piles cream, germolene, whatever.

How long till you leave for work?

Eeek. Whatever you do just don't pick the scab off too early, I did this and it's left a hole/crater in my face - forever!!

Give your face a really good clean a few times to try and dry it out? Not good for rest of your tan though!

GET SOME Tea Tree. It is magical.

Aloe vera is also good for calmimg.

I sound like a fucking hippy.

Tea tree oil works on:

spots
mouth ulcers

It truly is wonderful

Ibuprofen.
Ice cube or spoon chilled in the freezer.

You can mix a little light brown eye shadow or bronzer in with liquid/cream concealer to match your colouring.

Trust me, I'm a consultant! Grin
(More pertinently: I have adult onset acne!)

Oh noooooo. I picked the scab off already. I get the same bloody spot every few moths for the last 15 years in the same place and it's always horrific. I don't usually pick it but I just snapped. The eyeshadow tip is absolutely genius thank you magical!! I'll take ibuprofen and get some ice on it too. Thanks for all the tips.

STOP picking it.

Seriously, you end up with a carbuncle the size of your actual head.*

Do not touch it again, you will only make it worse.

I don't like toothpaste, I find it leaves it too dry for makeup the next day. I'd be inclined to use something like a drop of tea tree mixed in Vaseline or Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream, but I may be a lone voice. Smile

Listerine on it and it will dry it out almost immediately

For the love of GOD don't put vaseline on it or 8 hour cream (which is just posh vaseline) - that stuff clogs your pores like nobody's business.

When you squeezed it, did you actually get the puss out?

I know from personal experience that there would be no point me doing all the tea tree / ice / concealer stuff until I was sure I had actually squeezed as much out of it as possible. The compulsion to keep squeezing would be too strong.

I've had bad experiences with toothpaste too, it's way too drying and makes it all flaky. Once you're done, I'd wash your face with a good old fashioned bar of soap and a flannel. Then put on whatever creams/ointments you have and don't touch any more.
