Harry and his Bucketful of Dinosaurs books (and tv show). You could buy a bucket and fill with toy dinosaurs so he can play along.

When he's older - Natural History Museum Smile

I was going to say Harry and his bucket full of dinosaurs too.

Lots and lots of plastic dinosaurs!

The playmobil dinosaur sets are great too, they also do good caveman ones with mammoths.

this is a great book for little ones as a first dinosaur fact book.

Agree with the Harry books, you can build up a good collection of thos.

How do dinosaurs eat / go to bed. My fs2 was obsessed at that age. He loved and still does 4 years later, prehistoric park dvd and planet dinosaur. Not for the faint hearted though.

Right. I can totally help you here.

Books:

Dinosaurs in the Supermarket
There's a Dinosaur in my Bathtub
Gigantosaurus
Tyrannosaurus Drip
Usborne do some good beginners' books about dinosaurs - DS loves the nonfic books best.

DS has loved the Natural History Museum since age 2, and their online shop has great dino stuff.

DS got <a class="break-all" href="//www.amazon.co.uk/Galt-Giant-Floor-Puzzle-Dinosaurs/dp/B00009W9K0?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">this floor puzzle for his third birthday - a bit tough for him to start with but he bloody loves it.

Dotty Dinosaurs game by Orchard Toys.

Dinosaur torch - one of those ones you put a circle of slides into, and you project the slides onto the wall.

If you're in East Anglia, Dinosaur Adventure outside Norwich is worth a visit.

Enjoy!

Depending on where you are Dinosaur Isle on IOW is fab and I do believe Paultons Park (Hampshire) will have a new Dinosaur Land next year.

Schleich models are excellent and will last years but are quite expensive. You could probably find good deals on second hand from ebay.

Not sure where you're based but at that age we took DD to the Natural History Museum and there was so much dinosaur stuff in the shop, she was in heaven!

My DGS has been mad about dinosaurs from a very young age. His Auntie bought him this for his third bday

www.amazon.co.uk/Inspiration-Works-National-Geographic-Dinosaur/dp/B00844E7F8/ref=sr_1_1?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1435516141&sr=1-1&keywords=quiz%20about%20dinosaurs&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

and it's grown with him, from enjoying the sounds to learning all the facts and reeling them off Grin

Dinosaur Dig, Dinosaur Rescue and Dinosaur Rocket are popular with my 2.3 year old.

He has various plastic dinosaurs, the favourite is currently a bright pink cartoon-style triceratops called 'Pots' (as 'triceratops' is too difficult to say)

TV shows and films, he likes Dinopaws on Cbeebies, The Toy Story That Time Forgot with the Battlesaurs, and he loved Dino Time when we saw it at the cinema!

Dinosaur Roar was a favourite at ours, still gets fondly looked at now

For the models I agree about schleich ones, they are fab, but in all honesty we also have a gazillion cheapy ones and they get played with just as much. Unless you nab them on offer I'd get cheaper ones for now and save spending the big money for later if he is still dinosaur addicted in a couple of years. Dd has been dinosaur mad for a few years now, she's 6 and a half and still going ot be a paleontologist so we are happy to invest in more stuff, for example she has this canvass on her wall, I got her the lego research institute with the paleontologist for her birthday and that sort of thing, she sets up scenes and has her own "museum" in her bedroom but her 3 year old brother who is more likely to dig around in the dirt and bury his dinosaurs in the sand pit gets given a pack from Boyes that cost a couple of quid!
