that's all. Not properly angry, just a little bit irritated every time. I guess I should shop at Rymans and Staples instead

Definitely yanbu! I'm always amazed that they continue to trade.

YANBU. It is also irritating being offered half price chocolate. If I wanted chocolate I would have picked it up.

I must admit I never go in now.

It used to be one of my favourite shops - weird how stuff changes.

YANBU. Them and Boots and their £5 off skincare/make up vouchers...

If someone tries giving me a money off voucher in a shop I just say "No thanks" and leave it on the counter. Can't be bothered to get worked up about it - or the cheap chocolate.
I do feel a bit sorry for the people on the till having to ask if you want cheap chocolate/stamps/a magazine every time they are serving someone - they must get even more bored of it than the customers, and I expect almost everyone says no.

I was in on Saturday and i was a bit Hmm The woman on the till scanned my things then flung them back down on the counter before just looking into the middle distance. I had to work out what was mine from the vast array of tat they pile around the counters. The tat included a piece of paper which i think was a voucher for me

Yanbu. I use to work for them. The pressure my management to make sure they were given out was immense, along with weekly tallys on who sold the most chocolate to customers. Not that it's any consolation, but the staff hated it as much as the customer, but you had to just incase the one customer was the mystery shopper

Report
DoreenLethal · 22/06/2015 22:24

Take it out and leave it on the counter.

Report
caravanista13 · 22/06/2015 22:24

I just politely refuse the vouchers.

I wish all these places would just lower their prices by the equivalent amount rather than giving us paper, points etc.

CrazyWantsALife · 22/06/2015 22:26

It's even more a pita giving them out to you believe me but hey, you may not, but other people do use them, so it keeps a roof over my dcs heads . Please just leave on counter. job done.

I do take them and just bin them I read on here that staff in shops can be disciplined for not promoting the promotions its still a pain in the neck

Report
LilyTucker · 22/06/2015 22:30

I like them.

I've saved shed loads with them. The 20% off ones are particularly good.

Report
ppolly · 22/06/2015 22:37

Yes it is a nuisance. It has got to the point where I am grateful not to be offered anything other than a smile and a receipt at the till in whatever shop I am in. I think I am especially easily discombobulated though.

Report
Passmethecrisps · 22/06/2015 22:38

I don't mind being asked at all. Not one bit but I am not sure if it counts as promotion having the voucher just sort of left lying near my stuff.

Maybe she was as fed up with her Saturday as I was

Report
OwlsEscapade · 22/06/2015 22:39

YANBU. I can't stand them. It puts me off shopping in their stores as I can't be bothered keeping track of the promotions but then feel like I can't buy things if the are full price. It's irritating and makes shopping too complicated.

They should just have a simple, fair pricing policy. I wish all shops did. I hate bogof's and all the other nonsense that shops do.

I get properly angry about it. Angry

Boots and their goddamn constant five pound off no7 vouchers. No one wants to buy your shitty products!!! (except the make up brushes which are pretty good, but you cant even use the voucher for!)

lostmymarblesbutfoundthewine · 23/06/2015 06:56

Yes annoying but that's about all.

I always make a point of buying the chocolate or one of the extras as I know as a former employee how much grief you can get if you don't hit your targets for selling them.

Report
FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 23/06/2015 07:00

They're all at it now. Drives me mad. Not as annoying as 'would you like some £1 jelly babies or Galaxy chocolate?'. No if I wanted jelly babies and chocolate I'd have picked them up. Gggrrrrr!

I do. I think it's awful the pressure that is put on the poor employees. So I buy sympathy chocolate nothing to do with the fact I'm a greedy pig and love chocolate I always give my email address if asked too. I can always delete it afterwards.
