AIBU to think that cbeebies bedtime hour is wildly optimistic in it's timeslot and that it can't just be my bundle of joy that is still decidedly not in bed!

YABU. My 2 are in bed before it and thinks it's late if they see it.
Don't worry, I pay for it at 5:30am.....

YANBU.

I thank my luck stars every day that Nick Jr is on round the clock.

YANBU.

Neither of mine have ever gone to bed before 7.30pm.

I always roll my eyes to heaven when I see the "Bedtime" hour come on.

YANBU.

And I always felt so guilty if lunch wasn't ready at bang on 12pm when the lunchtime song came on.

I'm kind of wishing Derek Jacobi would run on a loop like the insanity infomercials.

' Night night Harhoos, night night Macka Paca, night night Ninky nonk. Hold on someone's not in bed...'

Yes Derek, my son's not in bed cos its only seven in the evening and its as bright as midday outside....

BBC4 ... (BBC3 shares the CBBC slot) and just rewind the DVR 2 hours at some point in the day then it comes on for 9pm finish...

He he, my ds2 has worked out how to use iPlayer on our computer and yesterday he sat and watched about five bedtime stories in a row. At about 4pm. He has learned that if he chooses In The Night Garden I will scream loudly and remove the mouse from his grasp. I hate that show.
He's 4 1/2 and bedtimes for him have been getting quite late as his little brother is a champion sleep fighter.

Bedtime starts at 7 in our house. It ends at about 8.30 Sad

Bedtime hour is great fun when your child has no signs of sleep in them Wine do children really watch it and then go to bed? I weep that CBeebies is finished and I have to find another channel to entertain the wild one whilst I rock silently in a corner waiting for a decent nights sleep Smile

My dd is often only sitting down to eat at the start of the bedtime hour. Fortunately she is only permitted to watch TV once in a blue moon smug so I forget to let it upset me.

Tonight she had endless Sarah and Duck on dvd not so smug now.

When DS was in nursery I sometimes wasn't picking him up until 6. Home, dinner, bath etc, there was no way in hell that he would be settling down for the bedtime hour! Doesn't seem to have done him any harm in the long run though! Smile

I have to admit to using ITNG and the bedtime story as our cue to start bedtime. We all have to hold hands and dance in a circle to the 'Now it's time to say Goodnight...' song, we then go upstairs, brush teeth, 3 stories then into bed. It's fine until we are away from home then my DD refuses to believe that it could possibly be bedtime!

3 stories! Wow! Hope they are short!

DS3 will come to me and sweetly say "it's the bedtime hour, it's bedtime"
"Shall we get your pyjamas" I reply
"Noooooooooooooooooooo, IT'S NOT BEDTIME NOW!" Bellows DS3.
Every time it's on.

When DS1 was small, probably baby till about 2, end of iggle piggle was our cue to go upstairs and have his bath.

Fat chance nowadays (ages 5 and 4), we eat tea at about 7.

3 stories is a good result for us, hence the hour and a half bedtime (minimum). There are some books I'd happily burn Grin

DD is never in bed for the bedtime hour ending, DH doesn't get in from work until 6ish and I don't want to do 2 separate teatimes so we always wait for him to get in to eat together, we don't really start bedtime til about half seven.

I'm starting to wonder if he's going o go to sleep at all tonight..
He's got more milk in him than a co-op dairy and is bouncing on the sofa doing an impression of a possessed giant hot water bottle.

I felt guilty about this for ages. And the get set go shite in the morning. There have been many a day when we aren't fed, washed, dressed, activity ready for 9am. Are the bastards trying to mentally cripple us?!

I had to turn it off at lunchtime because I NEVER had lunch readyfor the song and DD would come stand by me and do "mummmeeee fooooood" constantly until it appeared. I learnt that Nick Jr +1 was my friend. You don't get a lunchtime song until 1pm then Grin
