It really doesn't matter.

Who said?

Just put what you want. I can't see how it matters?

Be careful with visas/border crossings/ flights - I had to go on honeymoon as Miss because we didn't have to change passports & tickets.

Who is "he" ? And why does it really matter ?

It depends on what your doing with your passport if going abroad. I still travel in my maiden name as my passport doesn't expire till 2017 and I married 5 years ago. It doesn't matter tho really.

If your passport is in your maiden name/previously married name then you would be Mrs Blue, not Mrs Married Name.

Does it matter? Will your passport be updated?

so long as you have changed your passport to match this then I don't think yabu. We got lots of upgrades when folk realised we were on our honeymoon.

I would think it would make sense to book under the name on your passport.

I can see why you might like the novelty of your new name on your honeymoon. But if that's not what your passport says then it's honestly not worth the risk of trouble.

Be consistent with your passport or travelling doccument to be on the safe side. But seriously nobody cares.

You're still going on honeymoon, even after the housework comments and the dinosaur wedding pics, eh? Wink

Doesn't matter for the hotel but your name on flight bookings / international travel has to be exactly as it is in your passport. Titles are less important than most other details.

You need to fly in whatever your passport says.

You can can sort your passport before you get married if you want but it would probably be less hassle just to wait!

If it is the day after your wedding then don't you need to be careful that the name on your passport and the one on your tickets match?

I don't think you can amend your passport to married name before you have your marriage certificate, so that may be what was meant. I am sure immigration and customs are a lot hotter on that sort of discrepancy than they were years ago.

I could be wrong, of course.

The title doesn't matter but the name on your ticket MUST match the name on your passport

I don't have a title on my passport. Are there on British passports?

When I got married we booked in my married name. I took my marriage certificate with my (maiden name) passport and it wasn't a problem.

Your title doesn't magically change when you get married. If you want to alter your passport etc to a different surname you'll need to provide a marriage cert but surely you won't have had time to do that before the honeymoon?

Not everyone goes on honeymoon immediately after getting married.
