For what essentially are just flip flops which cost £20/30? Or am I missing something?

Yes and no.
Mine were really comfortable, didn't rub and lasted several years.

They are far more comfortable than cheapie flip flops.

They are very soft and bouncy. Mine were all four quid from Brazil!

Nope, YADNBU. You aren't missing a damn thing.

I love mine to death though, but I only bought them because they were reduced. They have lasted three summers now, and six holidays, so they are definitely hard-wearing as flipflops go!

I've found that they are very good quality, good fit and last me a couple of summers (i wear them almost non-stop from June-Sept). I also like Ipanema flip flops for the same reason. They've certainly lasted me longer than supermarket/primark flip flops.

I'm wearing some Havaianas that I received as a present 5 years ago. Yes they are more expensive but they last ages. I always had cheaper ones but could go through 2 pairs each summer.

EdYouKateShaun · 12/05/2015 15:38

Oh no they're not. They are so comfy, the sole is great quality so it doesn't bend to your foot shape like cheapy ones. I have 2 pairs which are 5 years old and look like new.

I'm treating myself to havaiana espadrilles this year for the same reason.

I bought mine in a department store in Spain for 6E which I didn't mind paying, I wouldn't pay full price for them though

Fitflops are the way forward, so comfy, expensive but well worth it. I don't think the Havaianas feel any different to other cheaper flip flops

I bought a lovely gold pair for about £20 a few years back, wore them once as they killed my feet after 10 mins. Much prefer ipanemas. SO SO SO comfy. They are about the same price but i managed to get some online at Decathlon for less than a fiver so i bought four pairs (blush)

Mine are similar to this but black. They actually have some for £2.99 at the minute so I'd have a quick look and buy them immediately

YANBU - I have some, they are no better or worse than a pair I had from accessorise a few years ago. They are comfortable but no more comfortable than most other flip flops.

Mine have lasted yeeeeeears and are by far the comfiest flops I've ever worn (and I live in them in the summer!) They don't rub feet/between my toes and they are sized well for my mahusive hoofs, unlike cheaper ones where my heel hangs off the back. They are pricey, but I see them as an investment. Bearing in mind I never wear 'proper' shoes, I don't mind splashing out on these! Smile

I have a few pairs, for the last 10 years I've worn nothing else for the whole of summer. They last forever and are dead comfy - I have loads of problems with my feet but can walk miles in them. I've never paid more than about £14 for a pair (and have a couple given as present from Brazilian friend). I haven't bought a pair for about 3 years now as I have all the colours :)

Yep I need to echo the above. I hate flip flops normally, they always seem to rub or not fit properly. I've had my havaianas for a couple of years and they're still going strong, even after being worn day in day out on holiday and in the summer. Totally worth it!

YANBU

They're comfy, as flip-flops go, but they're not twenty times as comfy as the cheapo ones.

purplemunkey · 12/05/2015 16:32

I must be doing something wrong then. I've had two pairs, very comfy but neither pair lasted a single summer. Both times the thong broke away from the sole - and both times I had to walk to the nearest shoe shop with one flip flop on and buy the cheapest shoes they had Confused

People need to stop wearing flip flops. The shlep shlep noise irritates the feck out of me.

RoboticSealpup · 12/05/2015 16:36

YANBU. I find the cheap ones made from foam much more comfortable. Hawaiianas are too heavy and rubbery and make an annoyingly loud noise. I've moved onto pool sliders. Much more comfortable, durable and less likely to fall off. www.talkshoes.com/files/2014/08/Rita-Ora-Adidas-Adilette-Pool-Slide-Sandals.jpg

I've had mine almost 7 years. I keep meaning to buy some more as they've been so comfortable but then the ones I have are as good as new so no need!
