I need the full story - I thought it was just my DP who didn't understand the word "hurry".

Oh no....not another one.

An ass has four legs and it would be impractical for it to be in bed. You mean arse don't you? Smile

Maybe it IS a story about a donkey. That would be quite a thread.

Are you my DP. You promice a rant at 21.10 and by 21.19 there has been absolutely no progress.

Damnit I've been suckered in!

In that case, perfectly reasonable for 30 minutes to get a donkey out of the bed. All that grooming, mucking out, feeding, water, haynets. 30 mins is about right.

Maybe OP is American. Or Canadian. Our backsides are called asses over there and the natives have no idea what an arse is.

Mind you we also call bum bags "fanny packs" because fanny means bum / arse / ass and not fanjo.

What kind of emergency would require an ass? An urgent and unexpected nativity? Has the leading ass broken something and this is DH's ass's chance for stardom?

Sorry, I do realise all this our / we / they business is confusing in my post. I am confused myself. Nationally I hover somewhere mid-Atlantic. Although the eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that I grew up in Canada because I started a post with Sorry.

I think that OP's husband managed to get his arse out of bed quickly in the end and OP has nipped down the off-licence for a bottle of champagne.

This donkey business is much funnier than anything I could come up with.

Maybe she rode the donkey to get the champers.

Depends what you mean by urgent.
I'm guessing if there was a fire in the room he'd have got out quicker Grin

I would have said ass as well and then wondered why everyone thought I was talking about a donkey, when clearly I wasn't implying we had a donkey in our bed American roots showing Blush

Maybe it was auto-correct. Perhaps she meant to post bass and he is a fisherman, but it came out as ass.

I think OP's ass is waiting till 21.40 before updating.

Would a carrot help?

My BIL was constantly being told by his wife that he was so lazy. But he just didn't get it! So she had to get it for him.
