To wish I had in laws as my family don't care.

I can only ever wish to have in laws. Both of my DPs parents died many years ago.

My family don't give us the time of day - we are fine when they want something (money or any other favour) but other than that they don't give a stuff. I thought it would change when I had my DD - they pretend they are interested but they aren't. They never text or call to ask how she is, never visit, slag off my partner. I get absolutely nothing from them.

I wish my inlaws were alive because at least we would have a chance of DD growing up with love from her wider family.

Oh and I'm 18 weeks pregnant but only me and DP know as there literally is no point telling anyone else.

Sorry just wanted to rant. It's shit though isn't it.

That does sound shit, I'm sorry . I can only advise you to concentrate on your immediate family and build up your friendship base. A good friend is worth any amount of disinterested family.
