Essentially a friend posted a link on Facebook to a Daily Mail story about a school close to my dd's school where police had to be called to a fight between parents at school. I commented on the thread (note her school is in special measures).
Me: nice to know there are some schools worse than ours!
Her: haven't you been to the school at pickup time recently?! (Joking!)
Me: lol! well there are some parents I'd like to punch!
Her: I wouldn't mind punching some of the governors as well!

I then received a letter from the county council asking me to remove inappropriate comments about the governors from Facebook. When I pointed out that I hadn't made any comments about them they're answer was that I'd commented on the thread and made similar threats towards parents!

I have sent her some ranty emails about how ridiculous this is. We suspect the deputy head who was on my friend's Facebook had reported it. She has now been defriended.

Can we not even make jokes now? And why do they think it's ok to monitor our Facebook pages?
