Obviously nothing against or anti breastfeeding but I absolutely loathe the word "bitty" ....

It just seems so derogatory.

A friend of mine is currently breastfeeding and another friend keeps referring to it as "bitty" each time she does it.

If women were able to breastfeed openly and it was totally accepted as normal to
do extended breastfeeding for years then it would be funny.

I only use it to mean full of or comprising of bits. as in, the sauce was bitty. Who the hell uses it to mean breastfeeding. That's gross.

Yes friend openly breastfeeds in front of us, which I'm happy about that she feels relaxed to do that and hasn't been put off by that constant comment.

I did voice my opinion once that I hate that word and she shouldn't use it and I was just met with ... I hope she just doesn't really get that it's derogatory.

The little Britain skit was a grown man in his 40s breastfeeding. That is why it's funny. Breastfeeding a baby is normal.

A "friend" would quickly be an ex friend if she was nasty to a breastfeeding mother.
