AIBU?

To think any flavour of jam apart from srawberry or raspberry is just nasty?

DH keeps trying to persuade me to try some peach and ginger jam a friend gave him. It looks brown and nasty and smells like something rotted in it.
My mum swears by fig, plum and apple jam. It looks like someone else ate it first and nothing will tempt me to try.
In fact any jam I have tried that isn't strawberry or raspberry has just tasted bad and been a bitter disappointment.

Blackcurrant is lovely (especially homemade), so is gooseberry.

ilovesooty · 25/04/2015 19:15

Ok. You only like strawberry or raspberry jam. Other people's tastes are different.

DamsonInDistress · 25/04/2015 19:15

Damson or cherry are both far superior to boring strawberry!

Madamecastafiore · 25/04/2015 19:15

Waitrose do a yummy morello cherry jam so YABU.

TamzinGrey · 25/04/2015 19:16

Blackcurrent is the Queen of all Jams.

ginmakesitallok · 25/04/2015 19:17

Blackcurrant, damson, gooseberry, cherry, are all fab. In fact the only one I don't particularly like is apricot.

MangoJuggler · 25/04/2015 19:17

Apricot is yummo

Let's not forget hedgerow produce: bramble jelly and crabapple jelly both delish

Peach and ginger, nah don't fancy THAT

msgrinch · 25/04/2015 19:17

proper cherry jam is lovely.

EponasWildDaughter · 25/04/2015 19:18

Plum or apricot are my favorites.

CoffeeBeanMonster · 25/04/2015 19:18

Duchy originals damson jam is very addictive.

ScarlettRuby · 25/04/2015 19:19

Sorry, blueberry jam is delicious! And I second the morello cherry jam madame !

MagelanicClouds · 25/04/2015 19:21

Apricot has always disappointed me. Looks nice, smells nice... tastes of nothing.

The only one I can have other than strawberry is blueberry, it's gorgeous lol, but peach/plum/fig eewwwww!!!! Lol

Sparklingbrook · 25/04/2015 19:23

I am a weirdo. I don't like any sort of jam at all.

marmaladegranny · 25/04/2015 19:24

My grandmother's homemade apricot was really yummy, as was her marrow and ginger!
Another vote for morello cherry, damson - but not plum…..

Glitterkitten24 · 25/04/2015 19:24

Black current is the king of jams imo!

Does marmalade count as jam? Cos that clearly kicks the arse if raspberry jam any day.

sparklepopsicles · 25/04/2015 19:24

Cherry and apricot are yummy

Lagoonablue · 25/04/2015 19:25

Don't like strawberry jam. I like any others though.

Branleuse · 25/04/2015 19:25

aldi sour cherry jam is amazing. Blackcurrant is also good.

I think strawberry jam is a bit nothing

BlackTrivet · 25/04/2015 19:26

My Nan's Apricot Jam was just divine...been a long time now

I shall be buying some Duchy Damson tomorrow, thank you CoffeeBeanMonster*

Yes, YABU Smile

IconicTonic · 25/04/2015 19:27

Raspberry is only good if freshly made and greengage is the king of jams.

MagelanicClouds · 25/04/2015 19:28

Marrow and ginger??? My mum made me some courgette, lemon and ginger 'conserve' and as far as I could tell the main point of the lemon and ginger was to hide the courgette.

Marmalade... I will allow marmalade as long as it's not sickly sweet.

But black cherry jam is the food of the gods, especially on a freshly baked bagel with coffee, mmmmm.

PippiLicious · 25/04/2015 19:31

Apricot. Delish.

Leviticus · 25/04/2015 19:32
