A continuation of this thread, which is far too good to just die now that it's reached 1000 comments!

Hooray for a part 2 - I used to work in tv and have previously posted on good and bad celebs I've met but I had to add my 'I've met Anthony Head' mark - he was a friend of my ex-boss - and yes, he was lovely!

One of the worst celebs I had to work with was Trevor Eve - arrogant w*nker. This was also confirmed by everyone in the pr department.

I don't think David Jason's been mentioned yet - he was very nice and professional.

Also absolutely loved Jo Brand, especially as she laughed at my (really bad) attempt at comedy once, and Caroline Aherne was the only one of her then comedy team/writers who actually spoke to me as if I was a real human.

Can we take a poll who hasn't meet dh as i feel left out! Sad

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/04/2015 18:45

can we take a poll who hasn't met dh

D'ya mean AH london

Freudian slip giving him the title of your dh Grin Wink

Or ......maybe you are Mrs Head IRL............

I haven't met him.

Frizzcat · 22/04/2015 18:49

Heard from some PR friends that Twiggy was difficult and diva-like when she was filming the M&S adverts.

Binkybix · 22/04/2015 18:55

I've heard that Karen Brady is an absolute nightmare to the little people. From when she filmed an advert.

Vanimal · 22/04/2015 18:58

Paul Daniels was absolutely lovely when I was filmung with him. I was a trainee/new grad and he went out of his way to come say hello. He was friendly and funny and polite all day and was happy to go sign autographs when lots of little children spotted him.

Janet Street Porter was arrogant and whiny and looked straight through me like I wasn't even in the same room as her.

Frizzcat · 22/04/2015 19:03

I've never met Tony Head either. We should set up a HeadWatch if we can pinpoint his position, then more of us can meet him!
Too stalkerish? Grin

ArcheryAnnie · 22/04/2015 19:04

If I was AH (I'm not, sadly), I'd be terrified of ever meeting anyone ever again, as I couldn't possible live up to my reputation!

Loftyjen · 22/04/2015 19:09

I met Cat Deeley years back & found her lovely - it was a pilot quiz show (which had big flaws) & I was a contestant, she was doing fame academy at the time too & mentioned that she must be really busy to which she replied she was squeezing a paper round in too!

namechangeafternamechange · 22/04/2015 19:15

NigelMansel...total, up his own arse, tool.

FatherReboolaConundrum · 22/04/2015 19:16

It's interesting reading lots of these posts that the 'don't you know who I am?' responses always seem to come from the c-listers, never the really famous people - presumably because they are genuinely worried that people might not know who they are. We were having dinner with a friend who's the admissions tutor of an Oxbridge college a few years ago - lovely man but the complete stereotype of the otherwordly academic - when he started talking about an open day he'd just held where a girl and her mother had turned up and asked lots of questions. He said the woman seemed very nice, had never heard of her but his children thought he should have done: a writer apparently, called Rowling...? She obviously hadn't minded the complete lack of recognition Grin

Daffodilliesanddaisies · 22/04/2015 19:18

I am going to shock you all, I have met Cilla Black and she was lovely.

MsJupiter · 22/04/2015 19:19

A random selection of celebs I've met:

Jenny Eclair - good fun, very frank
Barry Cryer - lovely, very dry
Derek Acorah - polite but very intense
Colin Fry - exactly as smarmy as you'd imagine
Ken Dodd - salivary!
Anna Carteret (Juliet Bravo) - wild and wonderful
Germaine Greer - possibly slightly tipsy, very friendly
Rob Bryden - absolutely charming
Will Young - delightful

HellKitty · 22/04/2015 19:19

I want to invite AH over for tea. That's Anthony Head not Ainsley Harriot Confused

Dieu · 22/04/2015 19:21

Quick query from someone who has only just recently developed a Mumsnet AIBU obsession: what happens when a thread receives 1000 replies? Do they discontinue it?

YokoUhOh · 22/04/2015 19:23

I used to bump into famouses (plural of famous people) All The Time when I lived in London.

We lived practically next door to: Damian Lewis (tall, gorgeous kids), Charlie Higson (totally unstarry), Neil Kinnock (jumping out of a taxi), Sarah Cawood (small, pretty), Jenny Frost (small, pretty), Roland Gift (we terrorised him, oops) and loads more.

We also used to bump into famous people out and about in Camden. I DJed at a party for Matt Smith (seemed nice), saw Amy Winehouse out and about (small, beautiful), and used to see various comedians and band members (Graham Coxon is gorgeous btw).

My OH used to work in a record store in central London and threw Liam Gallagher out for smoking a fag in there. He was really nice and apologetic!

MuttonCadet · 22/04/2015 19:23

William Hague - lovely, very genuine (and his wife is delightful).
Rowan Atkinson - a bit "up himself"
Seb Coe - aloof
David Cameron - charismatic
George Osbourne - cold fish

(It looks like I spend all my time with Tories, but that's not actually my politics) Confused

YokoUhOh · 22/04/2015 19:29

I've met William Hague, too, he's much taller in real life than you'd expect.

editthis · 22/04/2015 19:35

Found David Walliams to be a wally. Would say something stronger as he was just dreadful – but perhaps he was having an off day. Though he was also appallingly rude to a colleague of mine

Think he would be amused to be described as a "celeb", but Bill Bryson is the nicest person you could hope to meet.

londonrach I'm not speaking to you after your Michael Palin revelation. Wink I won't believe it!

BabeRuthless · 22/04/2015 19:38

I know someone who had an Apprentice task at their workplace (how I wish this would happen to me!) They said Karren and Nick were lovely, only asked for tea and then quietly sat at the back taking lots of notes. He said you'd hardly know they were there. The contestants were all gobshites unsurprisingly!

londonrach · 22/04/2015 19:40

70 Blush. Sorry you know what i mean. Sorry cooking and mntting at same time doesnt work. Be worried if everyone had meet dh Grin

BooChunky · 22/04/2015 19:41

I've also met Anthony Head and he chatted with me and my colleague for around half an hour as we were looking at the paper and Matt Lucas wedding photos were in there, so he was pointing things out. I can also say, he was totally lovely Grin

I haven't met Anthony Head!
Katherine Jenkins - total diva!
My DIL cut Paul Daniels hair - reckoned he was a total prat!

londonrach · 22/04/2015 19:45

Edith. I really wish it had been different but tbh i didnt sleep that night as cant believe someone can be that nasty. He was dhs hero growing up so seeing the books to go to oxfam broke my heart again. I wish i can tell you the other celebrities ive meet but cant as they meet via my work. Mr nasty is the only one that has ever been nasty. I could have taken home and adopted about 2 of them including my childhood hero. When he said my name...londonrach...i melted....into a puddle. Talk about a silver fox...

GatoradeMeBitch · 22/04/2015 19:48

James May - lovely. Jeremy Clarkson - as you'd expect (didn't see him punch anyone though.)

Alex James - smiley and flirty (this was before his marriage, not that anything happened!)

Thom Yorke - was happy to chat until he realized that I'd just realized that he was famous, then he actually ran away from me. I didn't take offense, in fairness I think I was about to squeal at him...
