Important to vote.

Nice advert telling people your vote matters.

When John Major stood in Huntingdonshire, my vote made no difference at all. He had a massive majority.

I live in a very safe Tory seat and I still vote. It sends a message even if it doesn't change the outcome, and I'm making it a little bit less safe for them Grin

I was thinking the same op. Is there a way for each constituency to be equal in number?

This this going to be one of the most unpredictable for years Everyone should just vote for who they want to be elected in their own constituency.

I think some seats are very predictable.

YANBU. You could put a blue rosette on a shaved chimp in my constituency and it'd be voted in..... Confused Hardly democratic.

John Bercow is my MP. The major parties don't stand candidates against an incumbent speaker. So choices are Tory, UKIP or Green. I vote because I think it's important but I genuinely don't feel like it matters this time

I'm in Scotland, and intend voting SNP, and given what the polls are saying, it seems it might make a huge difference North & South of the border.

I don't think I've ever voted for the "winner" in a local election.

If no party wins outright, and another coalition is needed, your vote might count. The Lib Dems, for example, might feel that they should snuggle up to the party with the most votes (which may not be the party with the most seats).

YABU. No-one should fail to vote because they think it won't count. FGS, half the country can't be bothered to turn out.

Everyone's vote matters.

Once at uni I went along to vote at the local elections and the ONLY choices on the ballot were Torys or UKIP Shock

It's important to vote. But what argument could you make to a Labour supporter in a true Blue constituency. Or vice versa. How would you convince them to vote?

'But what argument could you make to a Labour supporter in a true Blue constituency. '

What's your usual turn out? 30% is common in some places, that's 70% of people with the potential to change it all sitting on their arse.

Have you considered getting involved in your preferred party? See if you can get more people out voting. I say that regardless of whether you're red, blue, yellow, whatever.

We had a chance to get rid of FTPT. And we stupidly didn't take it.

At least it keeps the extremists out. For now.

I too live in one of the safest Tory seats in the country so no point in me voting whatsoever. But I still will (no idea who for) as so many women fought so hard for me to be able to vote.

Report
Vitamints · 28/03/2015 18:36

It wasn't much of a chance, Threep - they offered us a slightly ridiculous alternative then bamboozled the electorate wih over-complicated descriptions of how the alternative works. No wonder people decided to stick with FPTP.

It always has hinged on 'marginal' seats. People also dont bother to vote and more do on reality shows than elections. Its sad but true.

Safe Tory seat here too. Such a shame but I too agree my vote won't count. I will still vote though, with little hope. Hoping elsewhere in the country will be more sensible than the Home Counties.

Be aware of Vote OK who are running around constituencies canvassing for Tory MP's. They are targeting voters who are still unsure.

I'll vote but my vote may as well go in the bin here. This voting system was built for a two party system and isn't fair for the current state of affairs imo.

Very marginal seat I'm in, currently Tory so every vote counts to keep the Labour filth out.

Chicolateyy I'm in Scotland too, referendum last year, GE this year and Scottish election next year. Who knows what after that!

I'll be taking my little one with me every time, I want him to always vote, to always know he'll be counted. Scotland is a perfect example of how every vote counts. Basically split down the middle, that's likely to involve party politics too.

Even if you spoil your ballot please vote.
