Was I being unreasonable/how badly have I messed up?

DP hates tattoos, she has always been very honest and made it clear she would be livid if I ever got a tattoo.
So this morning I was passing a magic/fancy dress shop and decided to look inside. I had the best idea I have ever had and bought a temporary tattoo of a topless woman that looks a bit like DP......
She was at home so when I got home I ran upstairs and straight in to the bathroom I put the tattoo on and wrapped a bandage around it.
Then I confessed, I told her I'd done something and she wouldn't be happy I told her I got a tattoo but it's ok because it's of her.
She didn't believe me until I showed her, she was absolutely horrified and left the room. Then she left the house she just got in her car and drove off, left her phone here. That was almost 2 hours ago, we had plans for most of the day so she will be pissed off about missing that as well.
Eventually she will find it funny right??

Long story short- I pretended to get a tattoo of my DP topless on my arm and I know she hates tattoos now she has left and doesn't know it was a fake tattoo.

I already cleaned it off and she didn't take her phone, I text some of her friends but they are all at work as far as I know.
I hadn't considered her getting a tattoo. If she does and then sees mine was fake she will kill me.
I was 100% sure she wouldn't get a tattoo now I'm 99% sure, I would have to get a real one to make up for it. She won't get a tattoo.

Oh dear, quite the over reaction on her part I think! Even if she DID hate the thought, to strop off and leave without her phone for hours is not a particularly mature way to deal with the 'problem'.

For what it's worth, I think you are a grown adult and can get whatever you wanted done to your body and it's quite a funny joke! I hope she does see the funny side!

Are there other issues in your relationship? Could she have been angry/upset and this has been 'the last straw'?

Well. Um. No. She isn't, is she. You on the other hand... But then, I don't like practical jokes much.

I guess no permanent harm done, maybe? Although I have to say that her reaction does rather suggest that she'd consider this the kind of twatty thing you'd actually do for real... whereas when you're in a relationship with a non-twat, the first reaction would perhaps more normally be 'What! Let me see that. You're kidding, right... oh very funny. Haha, had me there.' Rather than instant storm out without phone...
