AIBU?

To eat 'corner' yoghurts like this?

DH, DD and I are eating yoghurts. DH has tipped all the crunchy flakes out of his corner into his yoghurt and mixed them in. He has taught DD to do the same. So DD told me to 'tip it in!'

However, I much prefer to eat mine by scooping a few crunchy bits on the spoon first, followed by yoghurt.

My reasoning is thus: crunchy bits might go soggy by the end if they are premixed. You get a fuller flavour, of crunchy bits and of yoghurt rather than crunchy-yoghurt-bits. You can vary the composition of each spoonful. And why would they have invented yoghurts with a separate pot of fruit compote if they were intended to be mixed? Surely they'd just put the compote in a layer at the bottom of the yoghurt like the Lidl Greek yoghurt ones!

To avoid any possible accusations of drip feeding, I quite possibly have Asperger's syndrome, so I would be interested to hear if this has any bearing on the method of eating yoghurt, and I couldn't be bothered to do a search to see if this exact AIBU had been asked before!

How I eat them will boggle your mind. I eat the parts separately!

I eat all the crunchy bits then the yogurt separately so in probably not the best person to comment but YANBU.

I eat few spoonfuls of flakes dipped in yogurt then get bored and tip the rest in

What a ridiculous question.

Scones, jam or cream first or how do you layer lasagne, now they're questions worth asking.

Seriously, I sometimes tip, sometimes don't. Depends on my mood.

I think YANBU, if they were supposed to be tipped in and soggy then why are they segregated at all? I keep them separate and eat a lot of the yoghurt on it's own until I get a more appropriate ratio and then combine them at the spooning stage.

I eat most of the yogurt first then tip in the crunchy bits ensuring that the crunchy bit to yogurt ratio is high.

My two both have autism.

One won't eat those corner yoghurts at all because he doesn't like the mix of textures. Nor will he eat yoghurt with bits in,chunks in, stuff on the top, stuff on the bottom or in any flavour other than strawberry.

The other tips them in, mixes them up and eats in about 2 seconds flat.

The pot is designed to flip and tip! Your DH is clearly correct.

If I'm eating a fruit corner, I put a wee bit of fruit on the spoon, then a big dollop of yoghurt, in such a way that some of the fruit streaks through the plain yoghurt still in the pot.
Then when there's no fruit left the yoghurt's nice and fruit streaked (like raspberry ripple) and it's delish.

YANBU at all OP Smile

I only eat the fruit ones but mixing them is wrong!

I spoon a little fruit into the top of the yoghurt then take a scoop so that I have yoghurt topped with fruit, like the picture on the lid. I may be a bit sad Smile

YANBU. Eat them exactly as you like. That's the beauty of them.

Each to their own

Spoon of yoghurt then a bit of the crunch/fruit on the tip of the spoon.

I totally agree with you! :D

Depends on whether fruity or crunchy. I totally agree - you can't risk the crunchy bits going soggy. Whereas I like to use the hinge for the fruit. Grin

I don't think the if they're meant to be mixed why keep them in separate compartments argument is valid. Plenty of things you buy are kept separate until the point at which the consumer is meant to combine them.
